Aston Martin Launches Vanquish: A New Era of V12 Flagship Sports Cars Redefining Luxury Driving

Aston Martin celebrated the debut of Vanquish, its new V12 flagship sports car poised to redefine driving dynamics for a new generation.

At the Venice International Film Festival, under a starlit sky, Aston Martin revealed its eagerly awaited new Vanquish in a breathtaking showcase on the Venetian Lagoon. An exclusive gathering from cinema, arts, fashion, and business convened at the Marina Militare for the premiere, featuring headline performances from Grammy-nominated Masego, award-winning Italian jazz artist Walter Ricci, and international DJ James Righton.

Academy Award-winning actors, including George Clooney, accompanied by his wife Amal, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Douglas, Kevin Costner, and Adrien Brody, graced the event. Celebrating the 60th anniversary of its iconic James Bond connection, the event also saw Bond actor Daniel Craig alongside fellow British stars Joe Alwyn and Micheal Ward.

Notable figures from entertainment, arts, and culture joined them, including Australian actor and filmmaker Joel Edgerton, American actresses Haley Bennett and Cailee Spaeny, and BAFTA-winning director Joe Wright.

The fashion world was represented by three-time Academy Award-winning costume designer Sandy Powell and models Bianca Brandolini and Poppy Delevingne.

The evening commenced with a cocktail reception along the canal, where guests enjoyed famous film scores accompanied by traditional Venetian Bellinis. A three-course dinner curated by Dolada restaurant, holder of Italy's longest-standing Michelin Star, featured cuisine sustainably sourced by Chef Riccardo De Prà from the local area of his Pieve d'Alpago restaurant.

The historically significant Arsenale di Venezia, dating back to 1104, underscored Aston Martin's commitment to blending handcrafted manufacturing with art and culture. Historically one of the first large-scale industrial sites, the Arsenale employed 2,000 workers daily during the Middle Ages, each contributing by hand to the fleets of La Serenissima and pioneering early assembly-line production techniques. Today, it serves as a base for the Italian Navy and as a venue for the renowned Venice Biennale international art exhibition, celebrating its 60th edition in 2024.

As a piece of automotive art, Vanquish rounds off Aston Martin’s portfolio of next-generation front-engine sports cars, marking one of the most intense product development phases in the company's illustrious 111-year history. Following the successful launches of the DB12 and Vantage, and coinciding with the launch of Aston Martin’s 2024 Formula One® car, the unveiling of Vanquish by Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso just a day after the Italian Grand Prix underscores the brand's synthesis of road and racing prowess.

Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin, stated, “Vanquish’s launch is a landmark moment for Aston Martin. It completes the most comprehensive and robust portfolio in our segment and strengthens our ultra-luxury stance.

"This launch heralds the revival of our iconic brand, blending timeless design, craftsmanship mastery, and engineering innovation to define our new generation of sports cars. Our flagship model, Vanquish, symbolises our dedication to ultra-luxury and high performance, ushering Aston Martin into a new era for drivers.”

With its limited production to no more than 1,000 units annually, Vanquish is Aston Martin’s most exclusive high-performance sports car in its core lineup. It is uniquely powered by a bespoke, Aston Martin-developed 12-cylinder engine.

Revived for the first time since 2018, this marks the third generation of Aston Martins to bear the illustrious Vanquish name. This name has prominently featured on-screen, driven by James Bond in the 2002 film Die Another Day and in other iconic 2000s films like Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The Italian Job. Now, it captures the limelight once more.
