Aston Martin Valhalla Nears Production with Final On-Road and Track Testing in the UK and Spain
Aston Martin unveiled official on-road images of the Valhalla, the marque’s revolutionary mid-engined supercar, as it moves into the final phase of dynamic validation. Engineers are conducting the last stages of sign-off on public roads in the UK and are tracking at the IDIADA proving ground near Barcelona ahead of production, commencing in Q2 2025.
Valhalla demonstrates supreme versatility, looking equally at home on the circuit as on the road. Featured in Podium Green with Lime Green detailing and Verdant Jade with Valkyrie Gold livery, the supercar is undergoing intensive testing. Aston Martin’s engineering team, alongside three-time Le Mans class winner and development driver Darren Turner, is pushing the car to its limits across various high-performance scenarios.
At IDIADA, engineers conduct critical calibration work across various specialist circuits, including high-speed loops and wet and dry handling tracks. The focus is refining the braking system's active aerodynamics, steering precision, and thermal performance. Meanwhile, another Valhalla—finished in Satin Scintilla Silver with Lime Green highlights—is undertaking final damper calibration on British roads.
Simon Newton, Director of Vehicle Performance and Attributes at Aston Martin, commented: “The Valhalla’s unparalleled dynamic bandwidth has opened up exciting new opportunities for our engineering and dynamics teams. With 1,079PS and 1,100Nm from the hybrid powertrain, sheer performance is expected. But crafting a world-class driving experience seamlessly integrating active aero and control systems has required immense dedication and innovation.”
Valhalla represents a series of firsts for Aston Martin. It’s the brand’s first series-production mid-engined supercar, the first plug-in hybrid, and the first production model to feature a dedicated electric-only driving mode. Under the bonnet lies a bespoke 4.0-litre twin-turbo flat-plane V8—the most powerful V8 ever fitted to an Aston Martin—with an all-new 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. This gearbox includes an integrated e-Motor and an electronic rear differential (E-diff). At the same time, twin electric motors on the front axle enable torque vectoring and contribute to the car’s all-wheel-drive system.
Combining Formula 1®-derived technologies with Aston Martin’s iconic design language and the engineering prowess of Aston Martin Performance Technologies, Valhalla delivers a breathtaking blend of innovation, control, and beauty.
Limited to 999 examples worldwide, the Aston Martin Valhalla enters production in Q2 2025 as the marque’s most advanced and exclusive supercar.
