Bid on Iconic Motorsport Memorabilia at the Broad Arrow Auction 2025

Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty company (NYSE: HGTY), invites collectors worldwide to bid in its exclusive online motorsport memorabilia sale, live from 21 April to 4 May 2025. The catalogue showcases more than 130 coveted pieces, and every lot will be sold without reserve, creating an unmissable opportunity to secure authentic, race-used artefacts.

Four‑time IndyCar champion and triple Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti donates two headline charity lots. The first is his complete 2005 Andretti Green Racing kit, comprising a Sparco race suit, balaclava, bespoke Nomex layers, Puma boots, Alpinestars gloves and a matching 2005 Arai visor. Franchitti rarely parts with his equipment, so this comprehensive set offers a unique collecting opportunity.

The second charity lot is Franchitti’s Arai helmet, still fitted with its radio and drinks tube and prepared for wet‑weather running with sealed vents and visor. Bearing the iconic saltire-and‑tricolore design he adopted in 1992, the helmet carries extensive evidence of use and a fresh signature on the crown.

Broad Arrow will donate 100 per cent of the proceeds from both Franchitti lots to Race Against Dementia, the global charity founded by Sir Jackie Stewart OBE to drive Formula One-style innovation into dementia research. Franchitti states, “Race Against Dementia is close to my heart. Without Jackie, my career and life would look very different, and I owe him a great deal. I’m honoured to offer my race kit to benefit this amazing charity and hope bidders will give generously to help defeat dementia.”

Beyond the charity pieces, the Spring 2025 sale is brimming with historically significant items. Highlights include Michael Schumacher’s embroidered OMP Ferrari overalls from the 1996 Portuguese Grand Prix, estimated at €25,000–€30,000; a 1977 Ferrari front wing from Niki Lauda’s second world‑title season, guided at €8,000–€10,000; Mika Häkkinen’s 1992 Lotus Arai visor, signed with an early autograph and offered at €600–€800; Sebastian Vettel’s 2011 title‑winning Red Bull Arai GP6 RC helmet, expected to fetch €25,000–€35,000; Alain Prost’s non‑tobacco McLaren race suit from the 1987 German Grand Prix, guided at €20,000–€30,000; and Häkkinen’s final Formula One test helmet from Barcelona 2006, accompanied by a McLaren certificate of authenticity and estimated at €18,000–€20,000.

Memorabilia specialist Matt Coles describes the auction as one of the finest collections of essential and iconic motorsport artefacts ever brought to market, urging enthusiasts to view the digital catalogue before bidding opens on 21 April.
