Porsche now offers the Manthey Kit for the latest 911 GT3 RS (992), designed to boost track performance significantly. This kit enhances aerodynamic pressure, allowing for higher speeds around corners. The suspension and brakes have been tailor-made for racetrack conditions, ensuring optimal performance during track days. Developed through a partnership between the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach and Manthey engineers in Meuspath, Germany, this kit is available through Porsche Centres.
The Manthey Kit distinguishes itself with extensive aerodynamic upgrades, making the 911 GT3 RS stand out. A larger spoiler lip with a new wing profile and carbon fibre reinforcements significantly increases front axle downforce. The rear window features a carbon fibre panel that is 25% lighter and includes a stabilising shark fin derived from the championship-winning 963, enhancing cornering stability. Additional roof fins help manage airflow, improving intake under extreme conditions. A revamped DRS wing element and a more comprehensive rear diffuser boost rear downforce efficiently, without added drag, achieving over 1,000 kg of downforce at 177 mph, thereby improving high-speed cornering and stability.
Adjustments to the semi-active coilover suspension accommodate the increased downforce, with spring rates up by 30% at the front and 15% at the rear. Sensors and a new control unit provide instant, precise damper adjustments, enhancing stability across various racing conditions. Drivers can manually fine-tune the suspension settings in Track mode to match personal driving styles.
The Manthey Kit's brakes are designed for the racetrack. They feature steel-sheathed lines for a more responsive pedal feel and optional racing pads for the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system. These pads offer consistent performance, minimal fading, and excellent wear resistance.
For those looking to personalise their 911 GT3 RS further, Porsche offers sporty accessories such as illuminated carbon fibre door sill guards, LED door projectors, and various decals for the 'aerodisc' wheel covers. Manthey lettering can also be added to the doors in different colours, with a towing eye available in multiple colours for racetrack use.
Porsche Brand Ambassador Jörg Bergmeister notes that the Manthey Kit stabilises the 911 GT3 RS's aerodynamic platform, especially in medium-speed corners, maintaining high aerodynamic pressure across all driving conditions. Managing Director of Manthey Racing, Nicolas Raeder, added that extensive testing on European racetracks and the Nürburgring Nordschleife promises significant lap time improvements.
The Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS is now available to order from Porsche Centres in the UK and Ireland, starting at £99,999.00 RRP, VAT included.
