Electrifying Past, Present, and Future: Porsche’s Groundbreaking Exhibition at Curvistan Bangkok

Porsche proudly introduces its latest theme at Curvistan Bangkok, Thailand’s renowned destination for car culture, art, and design. Entitled “Electrifying Past. Present. Future.”, this immersive showcase highlights the marque’s distinctive approach to electromobility.

Since its debut in August 2024, Curvistan Bangkok has become a premier hub for Porsche enthusiasts and visitors seeking inspiration. Its new exhibition provides a rare opportunity to explore the brand’s pioneering achievements, revolutionising high-performance electrification for the iconic German sports car manufacturer.

The display traces Porsche’s innovative spirit back to 1900 when Ferdinand Porsche developed the world’s first electric wheel-hub motor – the “Lohner-Porsche System” – and presented it at the Paris Exposition’s Palace of Electricity. According to Stefan Bogner, Creative Director of Curvistan, “Ferdinand Porsche was far ahead of his time. Our new special exhibition spotlights the birth of electromobility and connects it to the present day. Porsche has played a vital role in this.”

More than a century later, Porsche continues its pioneering role in electromobility. One of the exhibition’s highlights is the 918 Spyder hybrid hypercar, which marries advanced electrification with motorsport expertise to deliver exceptional performance and remarkable efficiency. The combined combustion engine and electric motor technology system is part of Porsche’s motorsport development, particularly the successful 911 GT3 R Hybrid.

At the heart of this new exhibition lies another electrified legend: the 919 Hybrid racing car, which claimed three victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 2015 and 2017. In its unlimited “919 Evo” guise, piloted by Porsche factory driver Timo Bernhard, it set a still-unbeaten 5:19.55 lap record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Beyond racing glory, the 919 Hybrid bridged a crucial gap for Porsche by transferring track-proven features, such as 800-volt technology, to the production Taycan range—delivering outstanding performance and efficiency.

Visitors can complete their exploration of Porsche’s electrification journey by looking ahead to the future. Alongside the new theme at Curvistan Bangkok, the Porsche BEV Experience grants enthusiasts and prospective owners the chance to test drive Porsche’s all-electric models, including the Taycan and the first all-electric Macan SUV. This immersive driving opportunity showcases Porsche’s trademark precision, innovation, and performance.

Curvistan Bangkok opens daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and is conveniently located at Sukhumvit 38, next to BTS Thong Lor Station. “Electrifying Past. Present. Future.” will run until 18 August 2025.
