Explore Hypertech Alpine: Pioneering the Future of High-Performance Automotive Engineering
Hypertech Alpine, Alpine's new cutting-edge engineering centre, will unite world-class talent to advance the development of ultra-high-performance vehicles and pioneering technologies for Alpine and the Renault Group. This strategic long-term vision will empower the Viry-Chatillon teams to enhance their expertise in advanced hardware and software technologies and protect the Group's intellectual property.
Key Projects Underway at Hypertech Alpine Include:
Alpine Supercar Development: The Viry-Chatillon Centre is set to accelerate the development of the future Alpine Supercar.
Advanced Battery Technologies: Tasked with developing next-generation battery technologies for sports cars, Hypertech Alpine will focus on the medium term while also pioneering research and advanced engineering in high-energy-density cell chemistry, particularly with solid-state batteries under extreme conditions.
Innovative Electric Motor Technologies: In collaboration with Ampere, Hypertech Alpine spearheads research and advanced engineering efforts to prepare for the next wave of technological innovations in electric vehicles.
Enhanced Motorsport Programme: Viry-Chatillon's widely recognised expertise will bolster various programmes, including the World Endurance Championship (WEC), customer racing, Formula E, and Rally-Raid for partner brands.
F1 Monitoring Unit: After discussions with employee representatives at Viry-Châtillon, Alpine is establishing an F1 monitoring unit to keep its staff at the cutting edge of motorsport innovation, ensuring they continue to lead in Hypertech Alpine’s diverse projects.
Following constructive discussions with employee representatives and an independent evaluation, Alpine's management has confirmed plans to transform the Viry site into a beacon of engineering and high-tech excellence by the end of 2024. Except for new engine development, formula 1 activities at Viry will persist through the 2025 season.
Every employee affected by this transformative project will be offered a new role within Alpine Hypertech.
A special unit, comprising management, human resources, and employee representatives, will be established to facilitate the transformation, focusing particularly on training programmes essential for advancing new projects.
"Establishing the Hypertech Alpine centre is crucial to Alpine's growth strategy and reflects our broader commitment to innovation," stated Philippe Krief, CEO of Alpine. "This initiative marks a pivotal moment for the Viry-Chatillon site, ensuring the perpetuation of its unique expertise and integrating it into our ambitious plans while reinforcing Alpine's status as an 'innovation garage'. Its rich racing heritage continues to drive an unprecedented industrial and automotive endeavour, thanks largely to Hypertech Alpine," Krief added.
