Get Lost Reveals Project Safari: A Rally-Inspired Reimagining of the Iconic Elise S1

Get Lost proudly reveals Project Safari—the debut vehicle from this new British automotive design and engineering brand. This daring, ground-up transformation of the much-loved Elise S1 fuses rally-inspired prowess, grand-touring practicality, and design-led innovation into one uncompromising package.

Founded by acclaimed automotive photographer George “GFWilliams” Williams, Get Lost brings over a decade of immersion in the world’s most extraordinary cars. This extensive industry insight shaped a vision for a vehicle that delivers an emotional bond through inventive design, precise engineering, and an unwavering commitment to enjoyment.

A dynamic team of motorsport professionals, design experts, and fabrication specialists unites behind this vision, creating something that defies convention and questions why such rules ever existed.

From the outset, Get Lost: Project Safari involved meticulous study of the original car’s spirit and purpose, not to erase its defining qualities, but to reimagine them without boundaries. “Envisioning an Elise in off-road scenarios might sound absurd, and that’s exactly why we embraced it,” explains Williams. “That single, audacious concept allowed us real creative freedom. We scrutinised every element from scratch, not just for standalone aesthetics, but to reinforce the car’s overall character and capabilities.”

Get Lost: Project Safari adds bold, purposeful design touches to the Elise’s graceful lines. Standouts include a bespoke roof scoop, custom rectangular headlights, and a completely overhauled interior featuring premium material, redefining its identity while honouring its heritage.

“It wasn’t enough for the car to look sensational; it had to be exhilarating to drive,” Williams continues. Get Lost: Project Safari features all-terrain tyres and a fully bespoke suspension system, delivering increased ride height and a wider track while maintaining precise body control. A new powertrain provides robust and reliable performance, and key functional additions—such as a limited-slip differential and a hydraulic handbrake—enhance the car’s playful, spirited personality.

The result is a vehicle engineered for pure fun and adventure. “This isn’t just a modified Elise; it’s our interpretation of the platform’s full potential,” Williams notes. “Every detail—from the design to the driving experience—has been considered in our quest to create something truly entertaining. If you appreciate it, you understand us. If not? Get Lost.”

Get Lost: Project Safari marks the first release from Get Lost, with customer builds set to commence later this year. The company now welcomes letters of interest from potential buyers, collaborators, and anyone identifying with this bold vision.
