The All-New Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé: A Symphony of Dynamic Performance and Everyday Opulence, Crafting a Timeless Overture

The second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé emerges as the crowning jewel in Mercedes-AMG's illustrious lineup, a harmonious fusion of dynamic prowess and heightened practicality for everyday life. With cutting-edge components like the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, active roll stabilisation, standard rear-axle steering, and dynamic aerodynamics, the driving experience ascends to a sublime zenith. This sporty coupé boldly pioneers the fully adaptable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, working in perfect unison with the AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, conjuring an encounter that transcends the ordinary.

The refined composite aluminium body structure, a testament to the engineering mastery of the Affalterbach development team, lays the groundwork for a 2+2 seating arrangement. This arrangement beckons passengers with its comfort and extends a warm embrace to luggage, symbolising a marriage of form and function.

Renowned for its dynamic spirit and distinctive sportiness, the new AMG GT Coupé weaves comfort into its fabric. As the flagship offering within a diverse array of models, it is the most influential emissary of the AMG brand, a steadfast guardian of the sports car heritage nurtured in Affalterbach. The optional 2+2 seating configuration, a nod to customer preferences, reflects the deep commitment of Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Head of Business Units Mercedes-Benz G-Class & Mercedes-Maybach: “The new AMG GT Coupé combines highly dynamic driving characteristics and distinctive sportiness with a high level of everyday comfort. Our new GT is the top-of-the-line product in our diversified portfolio and is, therefore, not only AMG's youngest brand shaper but also a clear commitment to the sports car made in Affalterbach. With the new dimension concept and optional 2+2 seats, we are directly responding to the wishes of our customers.”

The market debut welcomes two compelling versions: the AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupé, boasting an awe-inspiring 430 kW (585 hp), and the AMG GT 55 4MATIC+ Coupé, with a robust 350 kW (476 hp) under its hood. Remarkably, both models maintain an equilibrium of 14.1 l/100 km in combined fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of 319 g/km.

With an elongated dimensional canvas and the option of 2+2 seats, the new design language opens the door to a visual transformation. This coupé, characterised by its long wheelbase, minimalist overhangs, and gracefully sloped windscreen, radiates an aura of compact robustness. Its proportions are a symphony of balance, showcasing a mesmerising greenhouse, muscular wheel arches, and an expressive frontage that effortlessly marries sportiness with daily utility. Along the flanks, smooth surfaces eschew unnecessary lines, culminating in subtly recessed door handles. At the rear, sculpted shoulders amplify its sports car allure, with the light-alloy wheels seamlessly integrating into the body, and an active rear spoiler becomes one with the expansive tailgate.

At the forefront, the AMG-specific radiator grille commands attention, a regal presence in the automotive kingdom. The headlights, graced with the brilliance of standard DIGITAL LIGHT technology, reinforce the car's unmistakable identity. A trio of "light dots" forms the signature for daytime running lights, lending an air of exclusivity. Within the headlights, brushed surfaces and darkened tones speak to the car's performance-driven soul. The lower air intake extends the front, while bold power domes on the hood offer a commanding finish.

With its fastback silhouette and expansive tailgate, the coupé's compact greenhouse yields a gracefully rounded rear profile crowned by an adaptive spoiler. Artfully crafted fender trims introduce a compelling contrast to the seamless, unbroken surfaces. A pronounced shoulder elegantly melds elegance with athleticism. Horizontally aligned LED taillights, exuding precise graphics, seamlessly integrate into the rear design. This symmetry between front and back lighting is encapsulated by the iconic "light dots" motif. Running light indicators and "Coming Home/Leaving Home" animations are standard. The rear diffuser, gracefully enveloping twin tailpipe trims, punctuates the dynamic back aesthetic.

Stepping into the cabin of the new AMG GT Coupé is akin to entering a digital realm where AMG's high-performance DNA unfolds in a symphony of precision. The commitment to interior luxury manifests in meticulous attention to materials, craftsmanship, and detail. The cockpit centred around the driver, is a masterpiece of design, with a commanding central display as its crowning jewel. Nestled beneath a three-dimensional visor, the fully digital instrument cluster beckons.

The expansive interior, tailored to accommodate optional 2+2 seats, provides generous space for all. The rear seats, designed with everyday practicality in mind, extend their embrace to passengers up to 1.5 meters tall. Loading and unloading becomes effortless with the EASY-PACK tailgate, featuring HANDSFREE ACCESS. Furthermore, split-folding rear seat backrests ensure adaptability to your luggage needs.

The lower section of the instrument panel flows seamlessly into the centre console, crowned by an 11.9-inch multimedia touchscreen. This portrait-format display enhances navigation convenience and ergonomic freedom. The LCD screens deliver crisp visuals, empowering intuitive control over the vehicle and comfort features. The intuitive and adaptable MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system weaves extensive AMG-specific content across five distinct display styles. Exclusive menu offerings like "AMG Performance" and "AMG TRACK PACE" reinforce the car's sporty character.

Within the AMG Performance menu, a world of data awaits with a simple tap on various icons. Output, torque, lateral acceleration, all-wheel drive power distribution, and real-time vehicle conditions such as tire pressure and fluid temperatures are at your fingertips. The steering wheel, adorned with capacitive display buttons, seamlessly governs media volume, vehicle settings, and driving modes, from the embrace of "Comfort" to the exhilaration of "RACE."

An optional head-up display immerses you in pertinent information, presenting it in a mesmerising three-dimensional format intricately tailored to the driving context. Various style variants are yours to choose from. Ambient lighting, with a palette of 64 colours, encircles the interior, including two exclusive AMG background hues, casting an enchanting spell.

The heart of the matter lies in the seats, an epitome of excellence. The standard AMG sports seats, adorned with integrated headrests, marry ergonomic precision with intricate seam patterns and stitching. A spectrum of upholstery options, from monochromatic to dual-tone Nappa leather, awaits your selection. This includes MANUFAKTUR Nappa leather with diamond quilting and sporty Nappa leather with MICROCUT microfiber adorned with contrasting topstitching. For long-distance journeys, three massage programs extend a comforting embrace, while the ENERGIZING Package Plus elevates the interior ambience with a fusion of massage and lighting moods.

The standard sports seats serve as a benchmark, harmonising comfort with lateral support. For those yearning for a more performance-oriented embrace, optional AMG performance seats boasting integrated headrests and seat backrest ventilation
