Revealing the New McLaren W1 Supercar: A Tribute to Championship Legacy

McLaren Automotive announced the latest development in the remarkable saga of its '1' car series by introducing the McLaren W1. This new supercar will debut at 13:00 BST on Sunday, 6 October 2024.

The designation 'W1' honours McLaren's championship-winning ethos. The unveiling coincides with the 50th anniversary of McLaren's inaugural Formula 1 Constructors’ World Championship victory and Emerson Fittipaldi's 1974 World Drivers’ Championship triumph in a McLaren.

The McLaren W1 follows in the footsteps of the iconic McLaren F1 and the transformative McLaren P1™.

Michael Leiters, CEO of McLaren Automotive, stated, "The McLaren W1 epitomises the true principles of a supercar and represents the zenith of McLaren's supercar design. Emerging from our rich racing legacy and championship-winning philosophy, the W1 extends the limits of performance and truly deserves the '1' designation. Following its predecessors, the F1 and McLaren P1™, the W1 redefines the standards of a genuine supercar."
