Turbonite Transforms Design: Porsche Unveils Iconic Colour in Pantone's Fashion Colour Trend Report

Porsche's Vice President of Style, Michael Mauer, enthusiastically states, "Just as the Porsche 911 epitomises sports cars, Pantone’s colour cards have defined colour standards in design for over six decades. We're thrilled to be the inaugural external brand featured in the Pantone Fashion Colour Trend Report. Turbonite isn't just unique; it's an innovative, enduring, yet subtle colour that distinctively enhances our Turbo models, providing them with an unrivalled, confident appearance. Developed through a meticulous, years-long creative process, this new colour embodies Porsche's dedication to innovation."

The Pantone Fashion Colour Trend Report, vital to the entire design and fashion sector, shapes forthcoming collections with its colour forecasts. Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Colour Institute, notes, "Automotive design and fashion have long inspired each other. Our scouts keenly track emerging trends for adaptation. Turbonite, a metallic grey shade, is set to become a seminal colour that will influence the Porsche brand's image for years ahead. We recognise the boldness involved in its creation by featuring it in our upcoming Spring/Summer 2025/2026 report."

In August, Porsche commemorated the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo with a special edition, celebrating all Turbo variants as a dynamic component of the brand. The ‘Porsche x Pantone’ event at NYFW will showcase a 911 Turbo S and a Taycan Turbo S anniversary model, demonstrating that Turbonite uniquely enhances any model's aesthetic.

Turbonite dazzles with gold-tinted elements and a sophisticated metallising effect topped by a satin-matte finish. Applied to Porsche Turbo variants, Turbonite adorns rear lettering, Daylight Opening, and side window trims prominently in the exclusive crest. High-performance models boast this crest on their noses, alloy wheels, and steering wheels, with additional elements like front apron inlays and aeroblades, depending on the model.

Moreover, selected interior components such as trim strips and belt straps also feature Turbonite, further enriched by contrasting decorative stitching in black interiors.

Starting in 2024, Porsche will revitalise its colour palette for all models. The new categories—Contrasts, Shades, Dream, and Legends—reflect various themes, helping customers emotionally connect with their colour choices. Beyond standard colours, Porsche’s ‘Paint to Sample’ and ‘Paint to Sample Plus’ programmes offer over 170 classic and customer-specific shades, demonstrating Porsche’s commitment to personalised luxury.

Each season, the Pantone 'Fashion Colour Trend Report' from the Pantone Colour Institute offers a sneak peek of the key colours at New York and London Fashion Weeks, guiding retailers, brands, designers, and the media in trend-setting colour decisions.
