Discover the AC Ace Classic Electric: A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation at SEMA 2024

AC Cars, the UK's longest-operating car manufacturer, proudly presented the AC Ace Classic Electric at the SEMA 2024 show in Las Vegas, collaborating with electrified performance technology partner TREMEC Electric GT.

This remarkable vehicle combines classic aesthetics with a state-of-the-art electric powertrain, heralding a new era for the company renowned for its iconic sports cars, including the legendary Brooklands record-breaker of 1922. The unveiling also signifies the beginning of an exciting new partnership with industry leader TREMEC as AC Cars broadens its exclusive sports car range and plans for future innovations.

Featuring a hand-crafted carbon fibre body and a bespoke, hand-finished interior, the AC Ace Classic Electric embodies the golden age of sports cars while delivering the power of a custom 300 bhp (225 kW) TREMEC EV powertrain. With 500Nm (369 ft-lb) of torque and a range exceeding 200 miles, this roadster accelerates from 0-62 mph in just 4.9 seconds and boasts a 72 kWh battery capacity.

Limited to just 49 units at launch, the AC Ace Classic Electric is exclusively available for reservation at the SEMA show.

AC Cars Chairman Alan Lubinsky expressed his pride at SEMA. He noted the remarkable reception to the new AC Ace and its milestone achievement in combining stunning design with cutting-edge EV technology, marking the company's 123rd anniversary.

TREMEC's Managing Director Antonio Herrera highlighted the shared commitment to heritage and innovation between TREMEC and AC Cars, emphasising the fresh ideas and new approaches that have driven the development of the AC Ace Classic Electric.

Now available for order, this distinctive sports car starts at $275,000 (£212,000) before taxes, with deliveries of the first 49 cars scheduled for 2025.

The AC Ace Classic Electric was a highlight of this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, impressing attendees with its robust performance and striking beauty.

Integrating TREMEC Electric GT's bespoke eGT413 Modular EV platform, the roadster features 300 eHorse Power (225 kW) and full torque availability from 0 RPM, maintaining the race-ready spirit of the 1950s original.

Despite its swift performance, TREMEC’s expertise ensures the car's dynamics and handling remain impeccable. Thanks to a 72 kWh battery achieving a balanced 50/50 weight distribution, the roadster maintains a manageable weight of 1,134 kg (2,500 lb) even with a 200+ mile range, complemented by DC Fast Charging capabilities.

Reflecting the evolution of the original AC Ace, the new electrified model is available in two distinct styles, capturing the essence of the car's decade-long production from 1953 to 1963.

AC Cars continues to apply traditional craftsmanship and modern carbon-fibre technology at its South Coast UK facility to produce the AC Ace Classic Electric. It is available in patriotic red, white, or blue and has a classic black, leather-finished interior. Customisation options are also available for those seeking a unique configuration.

Displayed at SEMA 2024 on the TREMEC stand (#21455), the AC Ace Classic Electric and AC Ace Bristol Classic Electric are offered as fully road-registered, brand-new cars. Each of the limited 49 roadsters carries an official chassis number, confirming its authenticity as a true descendant of the historic AC Ace.
