Unveiling the Maserati MCXtrema: The Ultimate Track-Only Supercar in the UK

Maserati's racing essence is embodied in the MCXtrema, the brand's most potent track-only supercar ever, which made a significant impact this week. A dedicated Maserati enthusiast took delivery of this exclusive vehicle at Sytner Maserati Ascot in Berkshire, marking a historic moment for the UK automotive scene.

Nicknamed 'The Beast of Modena', the Maserati MCXtrema boasts a formidable 730-horsepower from its V6 three-litre twin-turbo Nettuno race engine. As a purebred track vehicle, it represents Maserati's racing legacy through a seamless fusion of advanced technology and traditional Italian craftsmanship, limited to 62 units globally.

The car’s owner, an avid collector and racer with his own team, actively engaged with Maserati during its development. His involvement ranged from visiting Maserati's Centro Stile in Italy to test-driving a prototype at France’s Paul Ricard circuit, underscoring Maserati's dedication to delivering bespoke experiences to its discerning clientele.

Upon receiving his MCXtrema, the owner expressed his excitement, "I'm thrilled to receive my MCXtrema today. A lot of effort went into customising the car to my specifications, and I'm eager to test its capabilities on the UK tracks very soon!"

Engineers at Maserati have rigorously developed the MCXtrema for peak track performance. Its exterior features are optimised for aerodynamics, including a minimal ride height, a fully flat underfloor, and an aerodynamically efficient rear assembly with a sculptural diffuser. Internally, it includes a racing seat with a six-point belt, a roll cage, and a steering wheel designed for high performance, ensuring driver safety and control.

The MCXtrema, crafted entirely in Italy by Maserati Centro Stile, underwent over 200 hours of dynamic real-world testing and virtual simulations to perfect its handling and performance. This meticulous process ensures the MCXtrema excels in demanding conditions, blending stunning aesthetics with formidable racetrack capabilities.

Following its global introduction at Monterey Car Week and a notable appearance at Laguna Seca, the UK delivery underscores Maserati's ongoing commitment to its racing roots. Andrea Bertolini, Maserati’s Chief Test Driver, played a pivotal role in refining the MCXtrema across the globe's iconic circuits.

Maserati enhances the ownership experience through its exclusive MCXperience program, offering bespoke track days and professional guidance from the Maserati Corse team. Owners benefit from personalised driving experiences and comprehensive aftersales support, making every aspect of ownership as remarkable as the MCXtrema.

Furthermore, each MCXtrema comes with a custom-designed racing kit by Sparco, ensuring drivers enjoy optimum comfort and performance, embodying the car’s racing spirit. This collaboration highlights the dedicated approach to providing a supreme track-driving experience for each owner.
