Unveiling the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series: A Blend of Sportiness and Luxury

The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series sets a new benchmark as Maybach's sportiest model ever. The design melds colours and materials inside and out, anchored by the signature Maybach pattern. These distinctive accents unify the vehicle’s aesthetic from the front to the rear.

At its debut, the series will introduce two curated design concepts for the convertible two-seater: The 'Red Ambience' features a striking two-tone paint in obsidian black and MANUFAKTUR garnet red metallic. At the same time, the 'White Ambience' contrasts obsidian black with MANUFAKTUR's opalite white magno. These vivid red and elegant white colours capture the essence of sensuality, beauty, and lightness, perfectly encapsulating this new model's philosophy and driving experience.

For the interior, Mercedes-Maybach uses sustainably sourced, crystal white MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather, complemented by silver chrome trim parts, setting a standard in luxurious interiors. The vehicle is set to launch in Europe in Spring 2025, with other markets to follow.

Daniel Lescow, Head of Mercedes-Maybach at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, states, “Our clients crave the exceptional. The Mercedes-Maybach SL Monogram Series introduces a sporty two-seater that elevates open-air driving pleasure, combining dynamic performance with the hallmark Mercedes-Maybach luxury of superior craftsmanship, intricate design details, and premium materials.”

True to the brand’s ethos, the Mercedes-Maybach SL provides a comprehensive sensory experience. It features an illuminated, brand-specific chrome radiator grille with integrated MAYBACH lettering, a distinctive bonnet adorned with an upright Mercedes star and a chromed fin. For added exclusivity, the obsidian black bonnet can feature the Maybach pattern in graphite grey on request, a process meticulously handcrafted to ensure precision.

The headlights boast high-quality rose gold accents, and the vehicle flaunts a dedicated front skirt that highlights its width. It also has a chrome-finished windscreen frame and sill cladding. It rides on 21-inch forged wheels, available in 5-hole or multi-spoke designs.

In light black fabric, the acoustic soft top subtly incorporates the Maybach pattern in anthracite, enhancing the vehicle's profile, especially when viewed from the side with the top down. The rear features Maybach signature rear lights, a bespoke skirt with chrome trim, a unique diffuser, and tailpipe trims marked by a horizontal bar.

Internally, the space is clad in the same sustainably tanned, crystal white nappa leather visible on door panels, the centre console, and comfort seats, which now sport a new floral design. Silver chrome trim and galvanised seat backrests provide striking visual contrasts.

Technological advancements include a fully digital instrument display and an electrically adjustable centre display with Maybach-specific animations and styles. Stainless steel pedals and door sill trims underscore the brand's luxurious detailing.

Driving comfort matches the highest Maybach standards, with a noise-optimised exhaust system, extensive insulation, a comfort-oriented suspension setup, and soft engine mounts. The dynamic drive is powered by a 4.0-litre biturbo engine with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, ensuring a smooth and safe driving experience.

Aligned with the launch, Maybach Icons of Luxury will release a curated collection inspired by the vehicle’s design, available in boutiques and online, featuring a range of high-end accessories.
