Explore Bentley's New Centre of Excellence: Pioneering the Future of Luxury Electric Vehicles
Bentley Motors has proudly unveiled its innovative Centre of Excellence for Quality & Launch. Officially opened today by Gunnar Kilian, a Volkswagen AG board member, alongside Bentley’s Board of Management, this facility marks a crucial step in the brand’s shift towards electrification. It plays a vital role in preparing for Bentley’s inaugural BEV launch. The launch of the world’s first urban luxury SUV next year heralds a new era, transforming the 85-year-old site into a beacon for modern electrification.
Under the forward-thinking Beyond100+ strategy, Bentley is set to transform its entire product line to embrace an electrified future. This new centre, a digital and environmentally neutral manufacturing and quality processes hub, will foster cutting-edge technologies for developing Bentley’s premier BEV. This facility is poised to redefine standards for future luxury vehicles.
The Centre of Excellence for Quality & Launch spans two floors and covers an expansive 8,000 sqm area. It includes a production proving ground and a mini assembly line designed to test future BEV production techniques. Additionally, it features a technical centre for material testing, high-precision measurement, vehicle analysis, and reliability testing—all dedicated to ensuring the superior quality, performance, and durability expected of luxury cars.
Andreas Lehe, Bentley’s Board Member for Manufacturing, commented on these advancements: “The Centre of Excellence for Quality & Launch is a fundamental component in successfully executing our Beyond100+ strategy. This facility represents a significant advancement in transforming our historic Crewe site into a leading global centre for sustainable luxury automotive production.
“This new centre will serve as a collaborative space for the Quality & Launch teams, playing an essential role in maintaining the exceptional quality, precision, and craftsmanship Bentley is known for as we introduce our first fully electric vehicle.”
