Audi RS Q e-tron Seals First-Ever Dakar Rally Victory!

Audi makes history by clinching its first-ever victory in the Dakar Rally with the Audi RS Q e-tron, a groundbreaking low-emission prototype boasting an electric drive, high-voltage battery, and energy converter. Spanish drivers Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz secured the win after covering approximately 7,900 kilometres, leading by an impressive 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the AUDI AG Board of Management, hailed the achievement, emphasising Audi's pioneering spirit in motorsport. The electrified drive of the Audi RS Q e-tron, powered by a high-voltage battery and an energy converter running on residual fuel-based reFuel, showcases Audi's commitment to reducing CO2 emissions.

Oliver Hoffmann, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, Technical Development, expressed gratitude to the team for overcoming the challenges of the Dakar Rally with their revolutionary electrified drive. Competing against formidable opponents from Toyota, Ford, and Prodrive, Audi's victory marks a significant milestone in motorsport history.

Daily stages of over 400 kilometres, including challenging terrain and navigation, tested the teams' endurance throughout the Dakar Rally. Despite stiff competition, Sainz and Cruz maintained their lead, securing Audi's historic triumph.
