Automobili Pininfarina Unveils the Battista Cinquantacinque: A High-Performance Tribute to the 1955 Lancia Florida

Automobili Pininfarina has masterfully crafted a special edition of the Battista hyper GT, dubbed the Cinquantacinque, in honour of the iconic 1955 Lancia Florida designed by Battista 'Pinin' Farina. This bespoke creation celebrates a legacy that blends automotive innovation with timeless elegance.

Battista 'Pinin' Farina originally designed the Lancia Florida in the 1950s, earning acclaim as a pioneering rolling sculpture that redefined automotive aesthetics. Today, Pinin's personal Lancia Florida, showcased in the Pininfarina SpA Collection in Cambiano (Torino), reflects the vision and daily inspiration of Carrozzeria Pininfarina's founder throughout his illustrious career. The Battista Cinquantacinque hyper GT pays a stunning tribute to this rich heritage with its flawless Blu Savoia Gloss finish, a contrasting Bianco Sestriere Gloss roof, and an elegant brushed-anodised jewellery pack. The interior features custom Mahagoni (Poltrona Frau Heritage Leather), enhancing its bespoke appeal.

The Cinquantacinque model stands out with its unique features, including the 'Cinquantacinque 55' signature on the passenger door plate and the underside of the active rear wing. Powered by four independent electric motors and a robust 120 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Battista delivers an impressive 1,900hp and 2,340Nm of torque. This powerful electric drivetrain allows for lightning-fast acceleration, going from 0 to 100 kph in just 1.86 seconds and reaching 200 kph in 4.75 seconds while offering a driving range of up to 476 km.

At its public unveiling in Tokyo, Japan, the Battista Cinquantacinque introduces Automobili Pininfarina's 'Dream Cars. Made Real.' promise to a discerning clientele. This event signifies a significant step in the company's global expansion strategy in collaboration with its retail partner, SKY GROUP. Clients are invited to embark on a personalised journey, ensuring each hand-crafted vehicle reflects their unique style and preferences.

Dave Amantea, Chief Design Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, expressed his enthusiasm about the project: "Designing the Battista Cinquantacinque was an extraordinary opportunity to honour the heritage of Pininfarina SpA. The striking colour scheme and visionary design draw direct inspiration from the Lancia Florida, influencing our PURA Vision design concept and shaping the future of Automobili Pininfarina's models."

The design elements of the Lancia Florida not only inspired the Cinquantacinque Battista but left a lasting impact on the innovative PURA Vision design concept. This forward-thinking model features dramatic Lounge Doors and pillarless, rear-hinged access that opens up to a spacious 2+2 seating arrangement, setting new standards in luxury and accessibility.

Automobili Pininfarina continues to lead in delivering an unparalleled Italian luxury experience, crafting each vehicle as a unique masterpiece that reflects its clientele's tastes and inspirations. This bespoke approach ensures that each creation from Automobili Pininfarina is not just a car but a personal statement of luxury and innovation.
