Daniel Arsham and Team Ikuzawa Ignite the Track with a Bespoke Porsche 904 at Goodwood Revival

Daniel Arsham and Team Ikuzawa will race a custom-liveried Porsche 904 and unveil an exclusive capsule collection at the Goodwood Revival this weekend, marking a significant collaboration between contemporary brands and the premier historic motoring event in the world.

The uniquely decorated Porsche 904 and capsule collection, crafted by Daniel Arsham and Mai Ikuzawa, fuse the minimalist branding of the original 1980s Team Ikuzawa with lunar phase motifs from Daniel’s early work and the sun, a pivotal symbol for Tetsu Ikuzawa. Goodwood has also emerged as a critical source of inspiration for both artists, enriching their creative paths.

Emanuele Pirro, a former Formula 1 driver and five-time Le Mans champion, and his son Goffredo Pirro will drive the car.

This partnership highlights the profound historical connections Daniel Arsham and Team Ikuzawa share with Porsche. Tetsu Ikuzawa, the first Japanese Porsche factory driver and Le Mans racer in the iconic pink Italiya Kremer 935, has created an enduring legacy. His victorious 1967 Japan Grand Prix in a Porsche 906 as a private entry secured his status as a national icon and a Goodwood favourite. Continuing this legacy, his daughter Mai Ikuzawa competed in last year’s Festival of Speed. Daniel Arsham has cultivated a significant relationship with Porsche, transforming their cars into art pieces and adding a layer of cultural and artistic importance to the brand.

As part of this collaboration, the Porsche 904, owned by JOTA co-owner and motorsport mogul David Clark and powered by JOTA Sport, will feature the JOTA logo in Japanese on both Hertz Team JOTA cars during the 6 Hours of Fuji on 15 September.

The collaboration will also introduce a special paddock area near the entrance to the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation presented by Bonhams|Cars. The limited-edition capsule collection, consisting of a white denim varsity jacket, hoodie, T-shirt, trunk bags, keyring, art print, and car grill badge, blends Team Ikuzawa's rich Japanese motorsport heritage with Daniel and Mai's innovative visions alongside Goodwood's enduring British legacy. This partnership redefines heritage for the future, echoing Daniel's hallmark theme.

Daniel, Mai, and The Duke of Richmond, long-time friends, celebrate their deep friendship and shared enthusiasm for racing, art, and fashion through this project.

An exclusive signing session will occur on Saturday, 7 September, at 2:50 pm.

The capsule collection will be available exclusively at Goodwood during the 2024 Revival and can be purchased thereafter at www.teamikuzawa.shop.
