Introducing the Aston Martin Vanquish: A Technical Marvel and the Ultimate Flagship in Performance and Luxury
Aston Martin is delighted to announce the Vanquish, the most formidable flagship in its 111-year history, heralding the resurgence of an iconic nameplate. This technical tour de force stands at the apex of Aston Martin’s esteemed front-engined sports car range, embodying superior in-house engineering expertise. A new legend beautifully extends this dynastic lineage.
The Vanquish features a world-class V12 engine with monumental power, a bespoke chassis equipped with cutting-edge dynamic technology, and carbon fibre bodywork that dominates presence. Inside, it redefines standards of modern luxury. With production capped at fewer than 1,000 units annually, this icon cements its place in ultra-luxury exclusivity.
Powered by a new 5.2-litre Twin-Turbo V12, the Vanquish delivers a staggering 835PS and 1,000Nm of torque, establishing new benchmarks in supercar performance with rapid in-gear acceleration and a top speed of 214mph—the highest of any Aston Martin production car to date. This engine achieves unmatched performance and efficiency and complies with the latest global emissions standards.
The chassis, expertly refined, offers unparalleled dynamic breadth. The Vanquish utilises sophisticated powertrain, chassis, and braking control systems to merge the comfort of a grand tourer with the precision and exhilarating experience of a supercar.
Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin's Executive Chairman, states, "With the introduction of Vanquish, we have crowned Aston Martin’s next-generation sports car portfolio. The Vanquish is a true halo model in every aspect, making a bold statement that advances our mission to create the most powerful, beautiful, and thrilling cars in the ultra-luxury sports car market. Vanquish epitomises the essence of Aston Martin: impeccably designed and engineered, setting extraordinary standards of performance, style, and luxury for a new generation of aficionados."
Aston Martin continues its 25-year tradition of V12-engined flagships with its most potent V12 yet. Delivering a class-leading 835PS and 1,000Nm of torque, this engine produces the highest specific power output of any Aston Martin V12 at 160PS/Litre. The 2024 Vanquish stands at the summit of relentless evolution, nearly doubling the power and torque outputs of Aston Martin’s V12 flagship model since the debut of the first Project Vantage concept in 1998.
Key enhancements to the new V12 engine include a strengthened cylinder block and conrods, redesigned cylinder heads with reprofiled camshafts, and new intake and exhaust ports. New spark plug positions and higher flowrate fuel injectors optimise combustion for unparalleled performance and efficiency. Additionally, new high-speed, reduced-inertia turbochargers enhance performance and throttle response.
The Vanquish introduces a new Boost Reserve function, making power delivery even more reactive. This is particularly beneficial during overtaking and dynamic driving. This technology increases turbo boost pressure above the norm during partial throttle demands, preparing the system for full power when needed.
Aston Martin and Valvoline, its Aramco Formula One® Team technical partner, have collaborated to provide high-performance engine oil for the Vanquish, maintaining optimal engine temperatures and pressures.
For the first time in an Aston Martin front-engined V12 sports car, a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox pairs with an electronic rear limited slip differential (e-diff), integrated into the electronic stability programme (ESP), enhancing dynamic behaviour and optimising traction under all conditions.
With a Final Drive Ratio of 2.93:1, the Vanquish is fine-tuned for peak performance, achieving speeds up to 214 mph. Enhanced transmission calibration further amplifies the driving engagement and performance feel.
Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin’s Chief Technical Officer, remarks, "It was inconceivable for a new Aston Martin flagship to be powered by anything other than a state-of-the-art V12. Our engineering team extensively revamped our existing 5.2-litre Twin-Turbo engine, from block casting to cylinder heads, achieving ambitious power and torque gains while enhancing drivability, efficiency, and emissions compliance globally. The result is a modern masterpiece with unmatched performance in its category."
