Discover Alan Mann Racing's New Era with Boreham Motorworks and Ford
Alan Mann Racing, the celebrated British racing team, has become the in-house high-performance division at Boreham Motorworks, marking a thrilling new phase for this storied brand. By integrating its championship-winning engineering and rich heritage, Alan Mann Racing enhances Boreham Motorworks' Ford-focused offerings under the expanding DRVN Automotive Group banner.
Celebrating its 60th anniversary, Alan Mann Racing is set to broaden its influence by merging Boreham Motorworks' precision craftsmanship and advanced technology with its distinguished motorsport expertise and deep Ford knowledge. This partnership aims to uphold the tradition of high-performance excellence and advance Boreham Motorworks' development of both road and race vehicles in collaboration with Ford Motor Company. The debut product from this partnership will be unveiled in early 2025, promising to boost Alan Mann Racing's profile and cement its status as a leader in the evolving arenas of motorsport and performance vehicles.
Established in 1964 by Alan Mann, Alan Mann Racing first gained prominence in the 1960s through its successes in touring car and endurance racing. To commemorate its 60th anniversary, a new 25-minute documentary featuring unseen interviews with crucial team figures has been released. This vibrant documentary celebrates Alan Mann Racing’s enduring legacy, capturing its golden era's spirit, camaraderie, and challenges.
Located in Byfleet, Surrey, Alan Mann Racing was once closely allied with Ford Motor Company. The team competed under Ford’s Total Performance programme with iconic cars like the Cortina, Escort, Mustang, and GT40. The team’s Escort Mk1 notably dominated the 1968 British Saloon Car Championship, with racing legends such as Graham Hill, Jacky Ickx, Sir Jackie Stewart, Jack Brabham, Mario Andretti, and Bruce McLaren among its drivers.
Earlier this year, Ford honoured Alan Mann Racing with the 2024 Spirit of Ford Award for its pivotal role in Ford’s track successes. The award was presented to Alan’s sons, Henry and Tom Mann, during a ceremony at the American Muscle Car Museum in Florida, USA. The Spirit of Ford Award recognises individuals who significantly contribute to motorsport, embodying leadership, sportsmanship, and commitment to Ford's racing legacy.
Looking to the future, Alan Mann Racing will oversee the new Boreham High-Performance Club, a bespoke offering crafted to merge Ford’s iconic history with today's peak analogue driving experience. Set to launch in 2025, this club aims to unite driving enthusiasts through exclusive events celebrating Ford's legacy.
Henry Mann, Managing Director of Alan Mann Racing, stated, “We are incredibly excited to join Boreham Motorworks as its high-performance division. This merger allows us to preserve and celebrate our rich heritage and usher in a new era of innovation and customer experience. Together, we’ll continue to honour Ford’s motorsport legacy while delivering high-performance products, events, and experiences that captivate racing enthusiasts worldwide.”
Iain Muir, CEO of DRVN Automotive Group, expressed his enthusiasm, “We are thrilled to welcome Alan Mann Racing into the Boreham Motorworks and DRVN Automotive Group family. Their unmatched expertise and iconic history in motorsport perfectly align with our mission to create historically authentic, performance-driven vehicles. Together, we will redefine the possibilities of continuation and remastered vehicles, remaining true to the legacy of Alan Mann and Ford's motorsport heritage while providing extraordinary experiences for our customers.”
