In 2025, Toyota celebrates the 40th anniversary of introducing the light-duty Prado to its global Land Cruiser range. This milestone is marked by the launch of the highly anticipated Land Cruiser 250 / Prado AT37 by Arctic Trucks, who are set to redefine what it means to be 'cool and capable'.

Initially established in 1990 as a special vehicles division of Toyota, Arctic Trucks has been enhancing the legendary Land Cruiser for decades, achieving a remarkable record of world firsts in extreme environments. The AT37, a product of collaboration between Arctic Trucks' divisions in Iceland and the UK and Toyota's African distributor CFAO, showcases a fusion of Icelandic off-road heritage with cutting-edge British automotive innovation.

Freyr Þórsson, R&D Manager at Arctic Trucks International, emphasized the benefits of developing the AT37 in the UK's Motorsport Valley, known for its high motorsport design and technology concentration. This location facilitated direct communication with suppliers, enhancing the vehicle’s performance. Peter Smith, Arctic Trucks UK’s Managing Director, highlighted the collaborative effort across their teams, producing a car ideally suited for global markets. This collaboration underscores their commitment to delivering comprehensive vehicle solutions for diverse applications.

The AT37 meets all OEM and government fit, finish, and functionality standards. It offers confidence-inspiring handling and exceptional mobility across all terrains, from rocky paths to soft snow and sand. Drawing from over 35 years of operational experience in harsh environments, the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 / Prado AT37 is engineered to stand out, maintaining everyday drivability while commanding attention. It features Arctic Trucks' new ‘Heritage’ forged alloy wheels and is available with either BFGoodrich’s latest All-Terrain or Mud-Terrain tyres, enhancing grip and durability across various conditions.

The vehicle boasts a bespoke suspension system developed with Dakar-winning R53 Suspension, featuring adjustable dampers for improved handling and a 40mm lift for enhanced ground clearance. Arctic Trucks has expertly modified the Land Cruiser's frame and body to accommodate larger tyres while ensuring stability and a low centre of gravity.
