Discover the New Renault 4 E-Tech Electric: A Modern Classic Reborn at the 2024 Paris Motor Show
Renault proudly introduced the Renault 4 E-Tech 100% Electric at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. Echoing the ethos of the original Renault 4, this model is a contemporary reinterpretation that highlights Renault’s commitment to accelerating the energy transition.
The eye is immediately drawn to the front grille, inspired by the vintage Renault 4. It spans 1.45 metres and has a unique, continuous, illuminated outline that superbly frames the central Renault logo. At the rear, the iconic three-part lights of the original have been updated with modern lines and a distinctive LED signature.
The design incorporates several nods to its predecessor, including the bonnet lines extending to the grille's bottom, the rear quarter window shape, and the three lines sculpted into the doors reminiscent of the original’s plastic protectors. The roof now features bars and an electric canvas roof named plein sudTM that opens with a simple touch or voice command, providing all passengers with a vast 80x92 cm view of the sky.
An exclusive new shade, Hauts-de-France Green, pays homage to the classic Île-de-France Blue of the 1960s and is offered alongside six other stylish hues. The model provides extensive interior space thanks to its 2.62m wheelbase, ensuring ample knee and headroom.
The interior boasts a modern aesthetic with dual horizontal screens, including a 10-inch multimedia screen with the award-winning OpenR Link system with Google integration. This system features Google Maps with optimised routing for charging and access to many apps via the Google Play store.
The Renault 4 E-Tech 100% Electric reintroduces Reno, the virtual travel companion first seen in the Renault 5, which assists users in effortlessly managing their vehicle's features.
The boot offers a spacious 420 litres, enhanced by a power tailgate and clever storage solutions, making it ideal for family requirements. Constructed on the durable AmpR Small platform, the Renault 4 E-Tech features improved ground clearance and a refined suspension for a smoother ride.
There are two powertrain options: a 52 kWh battery that powers a 150 hp electric motor and a smaller 40 kWh battery with a 120 hp motor. Each features advanced heat pump technology and bidirectional charging capabilities.
The vehicle includes a variety of advanced driving aids to enhance safety and comfort. It is set for a UK launch in mid-2025, with prices and specifications to be announced earlier that year. Renault enthusiasts can secure early access by purchasing an R-Pass, allowing them to place their orders ten days ahead of the general public.
