Discover the New Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric Prototype at the 2024 Paris Motor Show

Renault is set to unveil its Twingo E-Tech electric prototype at the 2024 Paris Motor Show from 14 to 20 October. The vehicle, first revealed in November 2023, will debut on Renault's exhibition stand.

Since its introduction in 1992, the Renault Twingo has captivated the automotive world with its vibrant colours and ability to enhance everyday life, perfectly illustrating Renault's concept of “les voitures à vivre” (cars for living).

The Twingo E-Tech electric prototype reignites this passion with a design tailored for urban driving, merging originality and practicality without compromises.

The car's design echoes the original Twingo's minimalist people-carrier shape, mischievous headlamps, remarkable agility, and joyful vibe. This prototype remains as unexpected as the first, offering a unique and clever solution for today’s drivers.

With its compact size and five doors, the Twingo E-Tech electric prototype manoeuvres effortlessly through city traffic while offering significant practicality. Its monovolume silhouette features a fixed glass roof that bathes the spacious interior in natural light, continuing Renault’s philosophy of creating enjoyable, liveable vehicles.

Design cues from the inaugural Twingo enhance the prototype’s charm, updating its proportions and surfaces with modern, fluid aesthetics. The futuristic front and rear designs include floating LED rings around the headlamps and tail-lights that mirror their shape, infusing the vehicle with a high-tech, appealing look.

The rear design pays homage to the original Twingo’s iconic tail, modernised with a black rim around the rear windshield and prominent tail-lights that echo the playful front design. The central Twingo lettering on the tailgate adds a touch of cheerfulness.

More than just a vehicle, the Twingo E-Tech electric prototype presents a distinctive, friendly face with expressive headlamps and a front design that conveys a sense of complicity and familiarity.

The car invites the outdoors into the passenger compartment, featuring a vast glass roof, enhancing the sense of space and openness.

The design also nods to the past with elements like the lit round rims on the door handles and decorative bonnet openings, honouring the legacy of the 1992 model while embracing future mobility.

This show car is the precursor to the fourth-generation Twingo, set to launch in 2026. Developed by Ampere to offer an affordable entry price of less than €20,000, it demonstrates Renault’s commitment to expanding access to electric mobility, aligning with other models in Renault’s electric lineup, including the Renault 5 E-Tech electric and Megane E-Tech electric.
