Discover the New Toyota Supra 2024: Upgrades and Exclusive A90 Final Edition Release
Toyota GAZOO Racing (TGR) today unveiled an upgraded version of the Supra (3.0-liter) and introduced the limited-edition Supra “A90 Final Edition”. The latter will be globally available, with just 300 units being produced. Details on the regions and the scheduled timing for sales launches are outlined below.
Since its debut in 1978, the Toyota Supra has garnered a dedicated following thanks to its classic front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration and powerful in-line six-cylinder engine. The Supra has been a stalwart in the Super GT and featured prominently in various motorsport events worldwide. The race-specific GR Supra GT4 model has provided the thrill of racing to drivers globally.
In 2019, Akio Toyoda, also known as Master Driver Morizo, reignited the Supra legacy after a 17-year hiatus. Upon its reintroduction, Chairman Toyoda reflected on his experiences testing the earlier models at the Nürburgring, emphasising the Supra's sentimental value and clandestine wish to revive it despite no official plans for its return. The new GR Supra was developed through rigorous testing at the Nürburgring, resulting in a car that offers an exhilarating driving experience and is better than ever. Since its comeback, the Supra has seen consistent enhancements, with upgrades introduced in 2020 and 2022.
The latest improvements to the Supra are designed to refine the driving experience, providing pleasure not just on urban roads but also on twisty tracks and race circuits. Enhancements include better braking systems for increased safety, a more rigid body structure, and optimised aerodynamics.
In gratitude to Supra enthusiasts worldwide and acknowledging the car's popularity in various motorsports, TGR has introduced the limited-edition “A90 Final Edition”. This particular version features several performance upgrades such as enhanced engine power and torque, reinforced brakes and chassis rigidity, and a KW suspension system favoured in racing circuits, complemented by high-grip tyres. This ultimate high-performance model represents the pinnacle of the current Supra’s evolution.
Although the production of the existing Supra model will conclude with the “A90 Final Edition”, TGR is committed to continuing the development of the Supra through its active involvement in motorsports.
