Toyota Gazoo Racing to Defend Title at 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship

Toyota Gazoo Racing is poised to defend its 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) championship with its established and accomplished driver line-up. After completing its twelfth season, the team has continued its dominance by winning the manufacturers’ World Champion title for the sixth consecutive year, exclusively using hybrid technology.

For 2025, Toyota Gazoo Racing aims to secure its sixth victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours, competing with two GR010 HYBRIDS in the prestigious Hypercar category. These vehicles have an advanced RACING HYBRID powertrain, refined through rigorous WEC competition.

The team retains its formidable driver roster, featuring World Champions who have been integral to Toyota's mission of enhancing cars through motorsport inspiration and boosting the sustainability and allure of racing.

Drivers Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries will continue in the #7 GR010 HYBRID for a second consecutive season following a victorious 2024 campaign. Kobayashi and de Vries secured third place in this year’s drivers’ standings.

Meanwhile, Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa, the seasoned trio in car #8, aim to extend their list of achievements. Buemi, the team’s most long-standing driver since 2012, remains instrumental.

The 2025 season features eight races, beginning in Qatar on 28 February and concluding in Bahrain on 8 November. The 93rd Le Mans 24 Hours will occur on 14-15 June, with Toyota’s home race, the 6 Hours of Fuji, scheduled for 28 September.

Kamui Kobayashi, now Team Principal and driver for car #7, expressed his pleasure in the team's strong cohesion and ongoing improvements year after year. With a steady and cooperative driver line-up, he anticipates further accomplishments in the 2025 season.

Mike Conway expressed his excitement about continuing with car #7 and highlighted the crew's strong team spirit and enjoyment, which fuels their performance.

Nyck de Vries is delighted to remain with the team, recognising the challenges and the triumphs of his initial season with Mike and Kamui.

Sébastien Buemi values pursuing another victory at Le Mans and another world championship, reflecting on his lifelong association with Toyota.

Brendon Hartley remains optimistic about overcoming last season's challenges and is eager to contend for more championships with Toyota Gazoo Racing.

Ryo Hirakawa looks forward to the upcoming season’s challenges, confident in the team's capability to triumph, bolstered by Toyota and its partners.

Toyota Gazoo Racing is fully prepared for a formidable challenge in the 2025 World Endurance Championship as it continues to advance the boundaries of motorsport excellence.
