Discover the Porsche x Frauscher 850 Fantom: Redefining Electric Boating Luxury

Porsche, a leader in sustainable mobility, collaborates with Austria's esteemed Frauscher Shipyard to produce a pioneering electric boat, showcasing the hallmark Porsche E-Performance in two distinct versions. This initiative extends beyond road and racing cars to impressive maritime advancements. Porsche offers two-door sports cars in various models, such as coupés and convertibles, while Frauscher provides options between the Runabout and the Air. These range from a closed foredeck with a classic appearance to a cabin under the bow and central helm featuring seating and lounging at the bow.

Following the acclaim of the open eFantom, crowned the best electric boat in November 2024 by the prestigious Best of Boats Award, the closed version, the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom, is now available. This limited First Edition consists of 25 units. “The eFantom, akin to our sports cars, delivers an exclusive, high-performance experience. As an elegant day cruiser with a powerful, innovative drive system, it sets new maritime standards,” states Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and Board Member for Finance and IT at Porsche AG.

The 8.67-metre long and 2.49-metre wide electric boats feature robust acceleration, substantial thrust, and confident performance. These qualities are reminiscent of the Porsche Macan, the inspiration behind the eFantom’s drive unit. The most potent all-electric SUV model, the Macan Turbo's rear-axle motor, powers the boats. This permanently excited synchronous motor, housed within the boat’s hull and managed via a Z-drive, can reach up to 400 kW. Enhanced by advanced power electronics and silicon carbide in the pulse inverter, the motor’s efficiency reaches new heights. The high-voltage battery from the Macan, with a 100 kWh capacity, and a wire-rope mount suspension system handle the high-speed marine conditions adeptly.

The new 850 Fantom accommodates up to seven passengers and features a rear swimming platform leading to a plush lounge area with comfortable sunbathing pads. The design elements from Studio F. A. Porsche in Zell am See, and Style Porsche in Weissach include a cockpit with the iconic sports car-style steering wheel and seats, complete with the Porsche Crest on the headrests. The cabin offers spacious seating, ideal for relaxation and entertainment. In line with Porsche's customisation tradition, the Frauscher boats allow upholstery and hull colour personalisation. The first model, showcased in Porsche’s Oakgreen Metallic Neo and outfitted with Truffle Brown upholstery with Orange stitching, will premiere at “boot Düsseldorf” in January 2025.

The eFantom has a foldable sunshade and a high-end audio system with Bluetooth and WiFi, controlled via a 12-inch infotainment display that integrates an echo sounder and chart plotter. LED ambient and underwater lighting enhance the boating experience at night.

The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom, priced at €572,934 net, is crafted at the Frauscher shipyard in Ohlsdorf, Upper Austria. Porsche provides pre-assembled modules, including the high-voltage battery and drive system, while Frauscher manages the final assembly, sales logistics, and after-sales services.
