Discover the RML P39 40SE: A Groundbreaking Le Mans-Inspired Hypercar for Everyday Use

RML Group Ltd, the UK's premier specialist in high-performance engineering, today revealed the first production details of its custom-designed P39 project.

The P39 40th Special Edition (40SE) brilliantly combines the design of a Le Mans Hypercar with the practicality of a daily driver, offering an unmatched mix of RML's championship-winning prowess and engineering excellence.

Taking the Porsche 992.1 Turbo S as its base, the RML P39 40SE enhances every aspect that influences performance, ride, and handling. This exceptional hypercar outperforms the Porsche 992 GT3 RS* in track capability yet retains remarkable comfort and daily driving practicality.

Michael Mallock, CEO of RML Group, stated, "Launching a hypercar inspired by our 40 years of leadership on the road and track is the best way to demonstrate our prowess."

"Our new RML P39 40th Special Edition redefines what's possible in this sector," he continued. "It will easily outpace a GT3 RS* at the Nordschleife while providing a relaxing and straightforward drive back home."

The P39 40SE extends its handling capabilities with increased track widths at the front and rear and a lengthened wheelbase. Its bodywork, replaced by a carbon fibre shell, draws functional and aesthetic inspiration from the new Le Mans Hypercar category.

The car includes front and rear active aerodynamics, complete with a driver-activated drag reduction system (DRS) that minimises aerodynamic drag to enhance speed on straightaways. Additionally, hydraulic actuators can lower the entire chassis remotely to boost downforce.

In this setup, the P39 40SE generates an impressive 662kg of downforce—over 4.5 times that of a standard 992.1 911 Turbo S at 150mph.

With these enhancements, the P39 40SE's twin-turbo six-cylinder engine achieves 900bhp at 7,300rpm and 1,000Nm of torque, courtesy of a new ECU, upgraded turbos and intercoolers, new manifolds, catalytic converters, and a tuned Inconel sports exhaust.

These upgrades use RML’s cutting-edge simulation software to project a Nordschleife lap time of 6 min 45 sec*. This compares to 7 min 17 sec for the standard 992.1 Turbo S and 6 min 49 sec for the GT3 RS.

Despite its focused stiffness in Track Mode to reach these speeds, the P39 40SE features two distinct driving modes. In Tour Mode, the ride height increases, and the damping softens, enhancing the car’s compliance for everyday use.

Internally, the P39 40SE marks RML's 40 years of engineering excellence with new sports seats and embroidery, complemented by four-point safety harnesses for both driver and passenger. The standard rear seat has been removed and replaced with a custom half-roll cage.

Completing the package, the P39 40SE is available in exclusive RML 40SE Ruby Red paintwork and custom-forged alloy sports rims—20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear.

Only ten units of the P39 40SE will be crafted at RML’s engineering centre in Wellingborough, near Silverstone. The first is already in production.

Each P39 40SE is priced at £495,000, excluding taxes and the donor car, with RML able to source the latter as needed.
