Bentley Motors has broadened its bespoke exterior satin paint finish collection to include 15 unique colours, meeting the increasing demand from customers for more personalised Bentley vehicles. The expanded colour palette ranges from classic and subtle hues to vibrant and contemporary shades, ensuring there is a perfect match for every Bentley model.
Each Bentley car featuring a satin finish undergoes a meticulous 55-hour painting process at Bentley’s Centre of Excellence for Bespoke Paint. This process starts with the car arriving in its glossy base colour, followed by hand-sanding, thorough cleaning, and precise masking. The car is then dusted and cleaned again before a clear lacquer is hand-applied in two stages to achieve a flawless, uniform satin finish. An independent Production Quality Team inspects and approves each vehicle, guaranteeing that every surface meets Bentley's high standards of excellence. From 2025, all satin paints will be applied in Bentley’s new, state-of-the-art Paint Shop.
Inspired by the latest design technologies and trends, Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, England, develops each satin paint finish. A team of experts creates these finishes through rigorous testing to ensure they embody Bentley’s commitment to superior craftsmanship, quality, and durability.
Satin paint finishes uniquely scatter light, enhancing the car's design lines unlike the reflective quality of gloss finishes. This feature accentuates the sophisticated contours of Bentley models.
In 2023, a record 75% of Bentley customers opted for Mulliner customisation, demonstrating the brand's success in providing limitless personalisation options. The expanded satin paint range by Mulliner allows customers to express their unique style, whether they prefer a timeless elegance or a bold, contemporary look. Beyond the 15 standard satin colours, Bentley offers customers the option to create a completely bespoke shade with assistance from Mulliner’s in-house design team.
The entire range of 15 satin paint finishes is available for all Bentley models, including the Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, Bentayga, Bentayga Extended Wheelbase, and Flying Spur. Additionally, these finishes are options for the newly announced Mulliner Batur Convertible, marking it as the third coachbuilt Bentley of the modern era.
