Explore Jaguar's Revolutionary Type 00: A New Era of Exuberant Modernism

Jaguar unveils the striking Type 00 (Type Zero Zero) at Miami Art Week, a bold new chapter in the brand’s ongoing transformation. This launch, held at the heart of the global art community, showcases Jaguar's new design ethos, Exuberant Modernism, following the introduction of its refreshed brand identity.

At this world premiere, Jaguar reinvigorates the pioneering 'Copy Nothing' philosophy of its founder, Sir William Lyons. The event not only previews Jaguar's future direction but also celebrates the essence of its storied past.

Adrian Mardell, JLR's Chief Executive Officer, expressed his deep connection to Jaguar's legacy: "Jaguar holds a special place in the landscape of British luxury, known for its rich heritage, artistic craftsmanship, and emotional appeal. We are reviving the iconic spirit that the E-type once embodied, aiming to awe our audience again. Our journey, rooted in the ethos of originality, promises breathtaking results."

In Miami, Jaguar progresses its transformation into an electric-only brand, unveiling an array of highly sought-after luxury vehicles. This transition encompasses more than just new products; it’s a complete reimagining of the Jaguar brand.

"Jaguar's reinvention stays true to our heritage while boldly facing the future. Our unique character is vibrant, distinct, and relevant today," says Rawdon Glover, Managing Director of Jaguar.

Introducing the Type 00, Jaguar's first physical expression of Exuberant Modernism. The 'Type' prefix nods to iconic predecessors like the E-type, while 'Zero' signifies zero tailpipe emissions and its pivotal role in Jaguar's new lineage. Its visionary design challenges conventional electric vehicles with a long bonnet, sweeping roofline, and dramatic silhouette formed by 23-inch alloy wheels, a fastback profile, and a boat tail.

Professor Gerry McGovern OBE, Chief Creative Officer at JLR, describes the Type 00 as a pure embodiment of Jaguar’s renewed design philosophy: "With its unmistakable presence, the Type 00 is a testament to fearless creativity and firm commitment. It lays the foundation for a new family of Jaguars that promise a revolutionary visual and sensory experience."

Jaguar’s design principles—exuberant, Modernist, and Compelling—permeate every aspect of the brand. These principles manifest in vibrant, fearless vehicle designs and the curation of memorable experiences, all while embracing a forward-looking, modernist approach respectful of Jaguar's rich history.

The Type 00 anticipates a new generation of Jaguars, engineered from scratch on the unique Jaguar Electrical Architecture (JEA) to support its striking design. This innovative platform aims to deliver unparalleled driving pleasure, handling, and comfort.

"The next generation of Jaguars, built on advanced electrification technologies and awe-inspiring designs, will distinguish itself in the crowded EV market," Jaguar promises. The brand's vision includes a four-door GT, expected in late 2025, targeting a significant driving range and rapid charging capabilities.

Jaguar will introduce its redefined experience through exclusive brand stores worldwide, starting in Paris's luxury fashion district. These immersive spaces will blend seamlessly into their environments, enhancing the global luxury retail network.

Jaguar's confident new aesthetic features a striking front-light signature and a distinctive profile marked by the iconic 'leaper' symbol. Hidden technologies like rear-facing cameras and charging ports reveal themselves only when required, enhancing the vehicle's sleek design.

"Every new Jaguar must evoke awe and offer a novel experience," explains Constantino Segui Gilabert, Jaguar's Chief Exterior Designer. The Type 00, from its dramatic butterfly doors to its ‘pantograph’ tailgate, embodies this philosophy, ensuring a memorable first impression with its artful design and modernist ethos.
