McLaren LT Marks 10 Years of High-Performance with Special Anniversary Events
In 2025, McLaren Automotive will launch a series of customer engagement and retailer events to commemorate the ten-year legacy of the McLaren LT models, beginning with the debut of the first model at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2015.
The McLaren LT saga started with the 675LT, a limited-edition coupe derived from the standard 650S supercar. This model drew inspiration from the McLaren F1 GTR 'Longtail,' which notably triumphed in its class at the 1997 Le Mans 24 Hour race. The 675LT set the tone for the hallmark of modern-day McLaren LT vehicles: enhanced driver engagement, track-ready dynamics, reduced weight, improved aerodynamics, and increased power in a limited production run.
Since then, five additional McLaren LT models have been introduced, including the 600LT and 765LT, both available as coupes and convertible Spiders. The latest model, the 765LT Spider, was released in 2021. Each model has upheld McLaren's reputation for superior performance and epitomized the ultimate in supercar excellence, owing much to McLaren’s rich racing heritage and the exclusivity rendered by their limited numbers.
The Celebrate LT initiative aims to connect with McLaren's dedicated customer base, who fervently support the McLaren supercar philosophy. Exclusive new LT-related content has been crafted featuring vehicles from McLaren's Heritage Fleet, initially accessible solely to LT owners. Throughout 2025, a host of activities will be available globally through McLaren retailers, including open days, meet-ups, and exclusive driving events for McLaren owners, all celebrating the impactful ten-year journey of the LT series and the iconic vehicles adorned with the LT badge.
Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer at McLaren Automotive, reflects on the LT series: "For ten years, the LT designation has stood for pure, uncompromised performance that captures the essence of McLaren. With an unwavering commitment to enhancing driver interaction, each LT model pushes the limits of weight reduction, aerodynamics, and power to deliver an experience as exhilarating as it is intense. Embraced by our most passionate drivers, the LT is more than just a model name—it's a declaration of our dedication to those who seek the ultimate performance."
