Lotus Emira Turbo SE: Redefining Sports Car Performance and Elegance
Lotus has revitalised its Emira lineup, introducing the mighty new Emira Turbo SE alongside the Emira V6. Both models build on the foundation of previous First Editions that have enthralled driving aficionados globally. The Emira Turbo SE boosts performance and design levels, maintaining the expected supercar-like aesthetics, dramatic contours, and exhilarating performance. This model uniquely combines superior ride quality, handling, and exceptional aerodynamics.
The Emira Turbo SE's name pays homage to Lotus's illustrious past. It highlights the 2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and celebrates the introduction of turbo technology, notably with the 1980 Turbo Esprit—one of the first sports cars to employ this innovation.
Moreover, the "SE" in Emira Turbo SE refers to when "SE" stood for 'Special Equipment', a package first seen on the Type 14 Elite and subsequently on models such as the Type 26 Elan and Lotus Cortina. This designation has traditionally signalled enhanced power and more comprehensive equipment levels in various Lotus models, including the Esprit Turbo and Europa SE.
Equipped with a 4-cylinder variable geometry turbocharged engine and an 8-speed DCT gearbox from AMG, the Emira Turbo SE boasts an increased output of 400 bhp and 480 Nm of torque. These upgrades boost its top speed to 290 km/h and enable a swift 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 4.0 seconds, elevating Lotus’s ‘For The Drivers’ philosophy.
The Emira Turbo SE includes the Lotus Drivers Pack as standard, featuring sports suspension, enhanced braking capabilities, and launch control. It also showcases core design elements such as 20-inch V-spoke forged Satin Grey wheels, Zinc Grey paint, and new ‘Emira Turbo SE’ badging with black Lotus branding.
The new Lotus Emira Turbo SE is now available for order starting at £89,500.
Potential buyers may also consider the Lotus Emira V6, which features a 400bhp 3.5-litre V6 engine and is available with manual or automatic transmissions. It starts at £92,500 and includes advanced performance and design features that support an engaging driving experience.
Produced at Lotus’s Hethel factory in the UK, the Emira benefits from a state-of-the-art facility and represents a new era in manufacturing efficiency and quality. With its stunning design inspired by the all-electric Evija hypercar, the Emira offers the excitement of a junior supercar and the practicality of an everyday sports car, equipped with the latest technology for today’s discerning driver.
