Historic Milestone: Germany’s First Porsche Classic Centre Opens in Kassel

On Friday, 4 April 2025, the sports car manufacturer joined the Glinicke Group to launch Germany’s first Porsche Classic Centre. This pioneering facility in Kassel provides an extensive range of restorations, services, and spare parts for classic Porsche models, all aimed at delivering long-term, specialised assistance for modern and heritage cars. Its opening reflects the company’s commitment to offering customers sustainable support informed by personalisation and classic vehicle care expertise.

Kassel. “Our modern and classic cars are often regarded as treasures by our customers,” says Alexander Fabig, Vice President of Individualisation and Classic. “This project is particularly significant for us, as we are delighted to broaden our consultation and support services for classic vehicles in our home market of Germany.”

The new centre boasts a state-of-the-art showroom and workshop where experts provide professional restorations, services, and the sale of historic Porsche models. They also rely on a comprehensive selection of over 80,000 spare parts for cars that ended production more than a decade ago, ensuring holistic support for customers. With the Kassel location joining four other worldwide competence centres in France, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland—plus 19 additional Classic Partners in Germany—Porsche further expands its global network dedicated to classic vehicles.

“Porsche is more than a brand—it represents passion, exceptional quality, and the realisation of automotive dreams. With the Porsche Classic Centre in Kassel, we have created a space that keeps this legendary brand’s heritage alive,” says Florian Glinicke, Managing Partner of Glinicke Automobil Holding. “Our customers benefit from a devoted team that works with unwavering precision.”

The Glinicke Group has represented the Porsche brand for 75 years. The new Porsche Classic Centre is located where wholesale operations began in the 1950s. Its showroom concept is unique, blending historic halls with contemporary design elements.

At the opening ceremony, 356 guests enjoyed appearances by motorsport legend Walter Röhrl, who shared fascinating anecdotes from racing during a panel discussion. The evening event also showcased iconic vehicles, including the Porsche 959, the 918 Spyder, and a Porsche 917. A standout moment was the presentation of the official certificate recognising this facility as the first Porsche Classic Centre of its kind in Germany.

“With the Glinicke Group, we have found a strong regional partner. In 2024, we held the groundbreaking ceremony for our new Porsche Centres in Kassel and Minden, which we aim to complete by the end of this year,” says Karsten Sohns, Managing Director and CFO of Porsche Deutschland GmbH. “Now, the new Porsche Classic Centre joins this development. It offers immense value for all customers, with a reach extending far beyond the local area. By visiting the site, classic car enthusiasts can receive expert consultation and guidance on their journey to owning a dream Porsche.”
