HIVED Expands UK’s Electric Delivery Network with New Mercedes-Benz eActros Fleet
HIVED, the leading all-electric parcel delivery company, has expanded its unique UK electric delivery network by ordering 11 Mercedes-Benz eActros trucks, recently named International Truck of the Year 2025. This move strengthens the UK's first complete electric delivery service, encompassing middle and final mile logistics.
The company has secured nine eActros 600 and two eActros 400 models through Motus Truck & Van, a Mercedes-Benz dealer partner. These trucks will enhance HIVED's nationwide middle mile network, facilitating collections from retailer warehouses to deliver directly to customers.
The eActros 600’s substantial battery capacity exceeding 600 kWh is ideally suited for HIVED’s middle-mile deliveries. It can travel up to 500 km (310 miles) on a single charge, ensuring efficient, long-distance operations without frequent recharging.
HIVED will revolutionise its charging infrastructure over the next year by installing megawatt chargers at its West London, Midlands, and Manchester hubs. These high-capacity chargers will enable the eActros 600 to recharge from 20 to 80% in 30 minutes, significantly narrowing the operational gap between diesel and electric heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
Stuart Jeggo, Sales & Marketing Director at Daimler Truck UK Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "HIVED's rapid expansion in the UK is truly impressive, and we are thrilled to support their initial venture into electric HGVs. I eagerly anticipate the operational rollout of these vehicles later this year."
James Venables, Head of Future Sustainability at Daimler Truck UK Limited, praised HIVED’s commitment to a fully electric delivery service. He highlighted it as a prime example of how the transition to electric trucks can enhance sustainability within the delivery industry. He remarked, "This forward-thinking company is an ideal partner for the eActros."
Mathias Krieger, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer of HIVED commented on the industry milestone, "This is a pivotal moment for the logistics sector. At a time when most companies operate mixed fleets, HIVED leads by example with a completely electric network for both middle and final-mile deliveries. With the eActros, we continue to push the boundaries of what a modern delivery company can achieve, expanding our electric middle mile capabilities."
