Hyundai Launches INSTER: The Revolutionary A-Segment Sub-Compact EV at the Busan Mobility Show 2024

Hyundai Motor Company proudly unveiled the INSTER, an all-electric A-segment sub-compact EV, at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. This vehicle sets a new standard in its segment with its unique design, leading driving range of up to 355 km, versatile features, and advanced technology.

The INSTER's daring design merges a futuristic look with a spacious interior encapsulated in a compact SUV frame. It includes a sophisticated technology package that ensures safe, refined driving experiences and offers rapid charging capabilities, positioning it at the forefront for all-electric range (AER) in its class.

The vehicle delivers eco-friendly performance, dynamic agility, and seamless connectivity. Its compact design enhances efficiency compared to larger models, capitalising on the design foundations laid by the petrol-powered CASPER, launched 2021 exclusively in Korea. With an extended body and wheelbase, the INSTER provides increased interior space and a robust road presence.

Positioned between traditional A-segment city cars and larger B-segment models, the INSTER combines ease of use with enhanced practicality. It offers a spacious interior and increased luggage capacity. Its compact dimensions make it perfect for city driving and convenient parking.

"INSTER redefines the small SUV sector for a global audience," stated Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center. "It offers a distinctive design and a maximised interior that caters excitingly to customer needs."

Characterised by its robust yet compact SUV profile, the INSTER's design includes flush, clean surfaces, strong fenders, and a high-tech, circuit board-style bumper. Distinctive features such as LED daytime running lights, pixel-graphic turn signals, and a choice of 15 to 17-inch wheels enhance its visual appeal.

Inside, the INSTER boasts advanced technologies, including a 10.25-inch digital cluster, infotainment touchscreen, navigation, and wireless charging dock. The interior design allows for extensive customization, and all seats fold flat for unmatched flexibility.

Available in a variety of colours, including Atlas White and Sienna Orange Metallic, the INSTER also offers sustainable interior and exterior materials, such as recycled paint and bio-polypropylene.

With a segment-leading range, rapid DC charging capabilities, cutting-edge technologies and safety features, the INSTER stands out as a leader in urban electric mobility. It will launch in Korea, with subsequent releases in Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific.
