INEOS Launches New Grenadier Commercial in the UK: A Specialised 4X4 for Enhanced Tax Benefits and Professional Use

INEOS Automotive has recently unveiled the Grenadier Commercial in the UK, a specialised 4X4 version for VAT reclamation and lower BIK tax rates for owners.

The newly introduced Grenadier Commercial replaces the two-seat Utility Wagon in the lineup, offering a full-length flat floor and a sturdy floor-to-roof cargo barrier behind the two front seats. It accommodates a standard 1,200mm x 800mm Euro pallet and is tailored for professional 4X4 users. With a robust 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity, over 2,000 litres of cargo space, and 5.5 tonnes of winching power, it's geared towards efficient vehicle recovery and heavy-duty tasks.

Unique design features, such as aluminium panels replacing rear passenger windows and blacked-out glazing on the rear doors, qualify the Grenadier Commercial for VAT exemption. These modifications also include permanently disabled chassis mounting points to prevent additional seating.

George Ratcliffe, Commercial Director at INEOS Automotive, states, "Since our launch in 2022, our UK customers have eagerly anticipated this model. We're thrilled to respond swiftly, offering the Grenadier's versatility without sacrificing its superior drive and off-road capabilities."

The Grenadier melds classic British design and German engineering precision, making it the perfect choice for demanding tasks without compromising comfort or performance. It boasts a robust box-section ladder frame chassis, heavy-duty solid beam axles, and multiple locking differentials, powered by a precision-tuned BMW 3.0-litre turbocharged engine.

Manufactured with precision and expertise in Hambach, France, at a facility acquired from Mercedes-Benz and converted in the UK by EDC Limited, the Grenadier Commercial is a testament to INEOS's unwavering commitment to quality and customisations.

The Grenadier platform's flexibility extends to the five-seat double cab Chassis variant of the Quartermaster pickup, catering to global commercial body builders and vehicle converters, with production starting later this month.

The Grenadier Commercial, available for orders on May 2, 2024, starts at £51,931, excluding VAT and on-the-road costs. It promises a dynamic blend of rugged functionality and modern refinement for professional users.
