Lola Cars Returns to Global Motorsport in Epic Yamaha Collaboration!

In an exciting announcement, Lola Cars declare its return to global motorsport through a multi-year technical collaboration with Yamaha Motor Company. The renowned motorsport brand, boasting over 500 championship victories, joins the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship starting from Season 11. Teaming up with Yamaha, Lola is set to develop and supply a high-performance powertrain for competition in the pioneering all-electric, single-seater race series. With a rich heritage in track racing shared between Lola Cars and Yamaha, this strategic partnership not only marks their entry into the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship as it transitions to the GEN3 Evo platform for the 2024/25 season but also opens avenues for innovation in global motorsport and the wider zero-emission transportation domain.

Mark Preston, Motorsport Director at Lola Cars Ltd, enthusiastically expresses, "We're thrilled to confirm our Formula E entry. It's more than just a return to the track for Lola; it's a remarkable platform for technological advancement." He emphasises Lola's expertise in chassis and aerodynamic design. This collaboration marks the initiation of several significant projects to reaffirm Lola Cars' position as a leader in sustainable engineering and motorsport. These initiatives strategically focus on three key areas: electrification, hydrogen, and sustainable fuels and materials.

Till Bechtolsheimer, Chairman of Lola Cars Ltd, is excited about partnering with Yamaha Motor Company for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. He underscores the project's emphasis on technological advancement and sees the 350 kW electric powertrain as a pivotal technology with broad applications across international motorsport.
