Maserati GT2 Expands Racing Dominance with New Endurance Pack and Championship Entries
The Maserati GT2, which propelled the House of the Trident back to the pinnacle of closed-wheel motorsport last year, now enjoys an even broader scope for success. It is eligible for additional championships, extending its dominance beyond its existing arenas.
During the first week of the 2025 GT2 European Series by Pirelli, Maserati Corse introduced an exclusive Endurance Pack. This innovation keeps the GT2 highly competitive and adaptable, making it ideal for endurance and sprint events. The Maserati GT2 recently passed the official ACI Sport Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship tests at Misano (on Monday, 31 March, and Tuesday, 1 April), qualifying it for the GT Cup Class.
The GT2 also joined the European Ultimate Cup Series, which began over the weekend of 28 to 30 March at the Le Castellet circuit in southern France.
Maria Conti, Head of Maserati Corse, remarked: “We’re very proud to provide our teams and gentleman drivers with a car that can stand out and guarantee cutting-edge technologies, significant performance, and a unique, unmistakable driving style. Expanding the range of competitions in which Maserati GT2 can take part meets the desires and requirements of our passionate customers. Plus, thanks to the new Endurance Pack, we’re delighted to bring the Trident to the world’s most renowned endurance races. We promised we would return to covered-wheel racing and last year, we did just that, securing a season of great successes; we are now expanding our competitive horizons and can’t wait to be back on the starting grid of the European GT2 Series by Pirelli with even more Maserati cars.”
The new Endurance Pack follows extensive testing on the track and is ready for teams and drivers who own a Maserati GT2 or those seeking a high-performance car suitable for any circuit and race format. It allows participation in endurance events ranging from four to 24 hours that push the supercar to its limits.
This specialised pack includes Endurance lighting kits, electroluminescent number panels on the doors, additional sensors, a brake bell system, and a cabin UV light kit. Built with lightweight, durable components, it ensures excellent visibility during night sessions and enables faster pit stops, allowing teams to compete at the highest level without sacrificing reliability. The lighting and electroluminescent number panels will also mark the Maserati GT2’s first-ever night-time outings.
Purchasers can order the Endurance Pack as an optional extra for a new car or adapt an existing Maserati GT2. Components are available as spare parts through the dedicated Maserati Corse after-sales portal, either as a complete pack or as individual items to suit specific team or driver needs.
In the opening round of the 2025 European Ultimate Cup Series, a Maserati GT2 made its debut under the number 28 of the TFT Racing team. Drivers Patrick Charlaix and Jordan Boisson immediately excelled in four 25-minute GT Sprint Cup races. Charlaix clinched a runner-up finish (second in the UCS2 class) in Race 1, followed by Boisson’s overall victories in Races 2 and 4. Charlaix added another podium by finishing third in Race 3.
Le Castellet will also host the first round of the 2025 GT2 European Series by Pirelli from 11 to 13 April. Maserati GT2 cars dominated the 2024 season, winning the Am Class's drivers’ and teams’ titles. This year’s European Series continues with five additional stops at Zandvoort (16-18 May), the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa (26-29 June), Misano (18-20 July), Valencia (19-21 September), and the concluding event in Barcelona (10-12 October).
Meanwhile, teams running a Maserati GT2 in Italy can enter the ACI Sport Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship’s GT Cup Class. Starting in 2025, cars without a single-make configuration can compete. The Trident supercar easily meets all criteria for the season’s four race weekends, each consisting of two 50-minute (+ 1 lap) contests.
