Maserati Officine Fuoriserie: Bespoke Italian Craftsmanship and Custom Car Design in Modena

At Maserati’s historic headquarters on Viale Ciro Menotti in Modena, the brand has unveiled Officine Fuoriserie – a state-of-the-art space dedicated to the most refined and personalised car customisation ever offered by the House of the Trident. Here, customer imagination takes centre stage, supported by a groundbreaking new paint line that turns dreams into drivable masterpieces.

Over a century has passed since Mario Maserati, artist and brother to the brand's founders, drew the iconic Trident logo – inspired by Neptune’s statue in Bologna’s Piazza Maggiore. It first adorned the grille of the Tipo 26, debuting at the 1926 Targa Florio and marking the start of Maserati’s storied journey in motorsport and road performance. Now, that legacy evolves again in 2025 – the Year of the Trident.

More than a logo, the Trident symbolises heritage, innovation, and the brand’s commitment to placing the customer at the heart of every decision. The Fuoriserie programme embodies this philosophy, fusing design excellence with cutting-edge technology and bold investment in bespoke motoring.

Santo Ficili, Maserati CEO, states: "Maserati is the epitome of Italian luxury. With Officine Fuoriserie, we elevate the customisation experience by putting the customer’s vision at the forefront. This new facility honours our tradition of artisanship and innovation while unlocking new opportunities for personal expression."

Located in Maserati’s iconic Modena factory, Officine Fuoriserie underscores the brand’s dedication to the Motor Valley and its skilled workforce. The investment reflects Maserati’s strong ties to the region and its mission to create new avenues for growth and innovation.

Fuoriserie translates to "custom-built," and that spirit defines every stage of this unique customisation journey. The process begins with listening – every client becomes the stylist of their own Maserati, choosing from an expanded palette of body colours, liveries, brake callipers, interior trims, materials, and fine detailing. A dedicated design team and advanced digital tools support this immersive configuration experience.

There are two tiers of customisation:

  • Catalogue Collections:

    • Collezione Corse pays tribute to Maserati’s racing heritage. Think historic shades, sporty dreamlines, racing-inspired liveries applied entirely by hand, and interiors echoing classic leathers and traditional fabrics.

    • Collezione Futura is for forward-thinking drivers. It experiments with futuristic materials, bolder colours, and sustainable design elements influenced by interior design, sportswear, and product design.

  • Bespoke:
The pinnacle of the Fuoriserie experience, where one-of-one models come to life. Customers collaborate closely with Maserati’s Centro Stile designers to realise a unique vision.

The Officine Fuoriserie experience spans the entire journey – from a specially designed lounge where clients explore endless possibilities with the Maserati team to the new high-tech paint facility where artisans complete each detail by hand.

The updated 4,000 m² facility includes:

  • Over 20 workstations, capable of painting models such as the Grecale, MC20, GT2 Stradale, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio

  • A process divided into three meticulous stages: surface preparation, robotic paint application, and dual heat-curing at 80°C

  • Output capacity of 24 cars per day in up to 24 different colours

  • 110 highly skilled specialists at full operation, with 40 already trained in the new customisation protocols

This facility is a fusion of traditional Italian craftsmanship and cutting-edge automotive technology – offering limitless creativity and flawless execution.

To celebrate the launch of Officine Fuoriserie, Maserati has unveiled a unique creation: the MC20 Cielo “Less is More…?”, a one-off bespoke model inspired by the Bauhaus art movement.

This special edition showcases:

  • A Blu Corse Matte body enhanced with abstract geometries in bold colours

  • A stylised Trident formed from lines, dots, and triangles across the bonnet

  • Colours including Rosso Capannelle, Giallo Avia Pervia, Bianco Audace, Azzurro Himmelblau, and Viola Salchi – each with historical and emotional significance

  • Asymmetrical 20” Corsa Forgiati Opachi wheels with colour-contrasting brake callipers and hubcaps

  • Interior and exterior detailing that pays homage to Bauhaus masters like Kandinsky and Klee

The “Less is More…?” MC20 Cielo is a stunning testament to the creative potential of the Bespoke programme and a bold statement of Maserati’s design philosophy.

Officine Fuoriserie is more than a workshop – it’s an atelier for dreamers, where the journey of owning a Maserati becomes intensely personal. Whether you choose the heritage-inspired Corse, the forward-looking Futura, or a one-of-a-kind Bespoke masterpiece, Maserati makes your vision a reality.
