McLaren Group Achieves Milestone: Mumtalakat Assumes Full Ownership Amid Capital Reorganisation
McLaren Group Limited ("the Group") has completed its capital reorganisation, reaching a significant milestone in its ongoing transformation within the luxury automotive and elite motorsports sectors.
As part of the reorganisation, strategic investor Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company ("Mumtalakat"), the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has assumed full ownership of the Group by converting all preference shares into ordinary shares.
Paul Walsh, McLaren Group Executive Chairman, expressed his satisfaction with Mumtalakat's continued commitment, stating, "We are pleased with Mumtalakat's dedication to McLaren, strengthening our ownership and governance structure. This empowers us to focus on our long-term business plan, including investment in new products and technologies and potential technical partnerships with industry leaders."
His Excellency Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat, highlighted, "This announcement marks the next phase in the Company's growth within the luxury supercar and motorsports sectors. McLaren's reorganisation and simplified structure position us for success, opening strategic avenues for growth through new partnerships."
McLaren's lineup of supercars and hypercars continues to experience strong customer demand, with recent releases like the Artura Spider, the brand's first high-performance hybrid open-top supercar, following the successful launch of the GTS in December.
The McLaren 750S, the brand's lightest and most powerful series production supercar, has already sold out until the end of 2024, building on the success of models like the acclaimed McLaren 720S.
