Pedro Acosta Rejoins Red Bull KTM for Exciting 2025 MotoGP Season: A Multi-Year Contract Renewal

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing is set to reignite its partnership with MotoGP prodigy and two-time World Champion Pedro Acosta for 2025. Under a new multi-year contract, the 20-year-old racing sensation will gear up with the KTM RC16 for his fifth elite season and second in MotoGP, sporting the dynamic #31.

In 2024, the Spanish rider dazzled audiences with his premier class debut, securing two podium finishes early in the season—one of the youngest to achieve such feats. Currently, he is a top contender, hovering around the top five in the world championship standings.

Acosta's ascent through the Grand Prix ranks has been swift and notable. After clinching the 2020 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in his second season, he joined forces with Aki Ajo's Red Bull KTM Ajo team. Acosta made a memorable Moto3™ debut in Qatar 2021, landing on the podium and winning the following weekend. His brief yet successful stint in Moto3™ culminated in a world championship victory before he escalated to Moto2™ in 2022, dominating the series by the end of 2023.

Pedro Acosta has quickly become a standout in the MotoGP landscape, fuelled by his innate talent and composed demeanour. The new deal cements his position within the Red Bull KTM team and promises an extended collaboration beyond 2025.

Francesco Guidotti, Team Manager for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, expressed, “Racing demands constant evolution and acceleration, and Pedro’s journey reflects a unique generational talent. His rapid ascent to one of MotoGP’s most sought-after riders for 2025 underlines his exceptional skill set. The current high standards in MotoGP—spanning bikes, tyres, equipment, and teams—make his swift rise all the more impressive. His current team deserves immense praise for equipping Pedro with a platform to showcase his prowess.”

Pit Beirer, KTM Motorsports Director, shared, “Announcing this partnership with Pedro Acosta brings us tremendous joy. His speed and charisma on the track have captivated fans worldwide. From his early days in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, it was evident that Pedro was a standout rider with a robust mentality to forge his path. This uniqueness sets him apart in the MotoGP world, energising our team's journey with him through our setups and bikes. We are thrilled to continue this partnership, which promises a bright future in MotoGP. Special recognition goes to our KTM GP Academy and Aki Ajo for their pivotal roles in Pedro’s development. It’s exhilarating to extend our journey together for several more years.”
