Revive Legendary Icons: Boreham Motorworks Partners with Ford to Remaster Classic Road and Rally Cars

Boreham Motorworks excitedly unveils a global brand license agreement with Ford Motor Company to produce and rejuvenate a series of Ford’s most iconic road, race, and rally vehicles.

Operating as the high-performance motorsport and racing branch of the DRVN Automotive Group, a leader in the automotive sector, Boreham Motorworks provides the ultimate analog driving experience. This involves designing, manufacturing, and distributing luxury automotive brands while pushing the boundaries of innovation and engineering.

The series kicks off with Boreham Motorworks' reintroduction of the legendary Ford RS200 on its fortieth anniversary. This marks an entirely new, from-scratch build of a road-legal Group B-inspired driver’s car. Initially launched in 1984, the Ford RS200 was engineered for the World Rally Championship. It features a mid-engine layout, a sophisticated four-wheel-drive system, and a lightweight composite body, establishing it as one of the most admired rally cars of its time.

Furthermore, Boreham Motorworks will continue remastering some of Ford’s most historically significant vehicles, producing blueprint-accurate, period-appropriate cars with continuation VINs, starting with the Ford MK1 Escort. Launched in the late 1960s, the MK1 became a motorsport legend known for its lightweight frame and advanced suspension system, delivering superior handling and agility on various terrains.

Darren McDermott, Executive Chairman at DRVN Automotive Group, expressed excitement about this venture with Ford Motor Company, aiming to redefine these historical icons. "We are set to transform automotive innovation and elevate driver engagement and design. Our shared dedication to this remarkable project will craft an exceptional analog driving experience and establish a lasting legacy for enthusiasts," he commented.

In very limited production runs, Boreham Motorworks will remaster these iconic models and offer an exclusive, invitation-only membership to The Boreham High-Performance Club, which immerses members in extraordinary global driving experiences.

The series will highlight at least five more iconic Ford vehicles, with the Ford MK1 Escort continuation to be unveiled to the public later this year. Interest is currently being gathered on the Boreham Motorworks website.

The General Manager at Ford Performance Motorsports, Will Ford, was enthusiastic about the partnership. "From our initial discussions, it was evident that Boreham Motorworks and the DRVN team had a compelling vision for revitalising our iconic historical nameplates for today’s era. It’s thrilling to watch this relationship flourish and to witness Boreham Motorworks bring this vision to life during a time of significant enthusiasm from car enthusiasts."

This series arrives at a pivotal moment as Ford Performance Motorsports expands its global racing programs. These include participating with the Mustang GT3 at Le Mans, introducing a new Ford Raptor for the 2025 Dakar rally, and marking Ford’s return to the top tiers of motorsport.
