Unveil Robust Safety: The New Škoda Kodiaq Armoured with Advanced Protection Features

Škoda is elevating occupant safety with its innovative Kodiaq Armoured. This new development, a collaborative effort between Škoda UK and the British security specialists at UTAC Special Vehicles, continues the legacy established by the Superb Armoured, which has seen nearly 500 units sold globally since its debut in 2018.

Like its predecessor, the updated Superb Armoured, the Kodiaq Armoured boasts full certification to PAS 300 and PAS 301 Civilian Armoured Vehicle standards. The PAS 301 certification recognises vehicles that withstand rigorous tests, including payload, acceleration, top speed, handling, and braking. The Kodiaq Armoured has also endured over 200 rounds of ammunition and tests for blast resistance on its sides, roof, and underfloor, assuring top-tier protection for all inside.

Throughout its development, the Kodiaq Armoured underwent an extensive testing regime. True to all Škoda armoured models, it was produced with Škoda’s full backing and technical support, maintaining the appearance of the standard production model as closely as possible.

The Kodiaq Armoured features a host of enhancements to ensure complete occupant security, including bullet-resistant glass and armoured steel around the passenger compartment. This vehicle is resistant to various firearms, from handguns to assault rifles, and protects against grenades and high-explosive blasts.

To match the agility and drivability of the standard model, the Kodiaq Armoured is fitted with upgraded suspension and brakes to handle the additional weight. It also features a tyre retention system on all four wheels to prevent tyre detachment after punctures, allowing the driver always to retain control.

The SUV includes emergency lighting, a siren system and an 8-inch touchscreen communication hub equipped with GPS, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Despite extensive modifications for enhanced security, the Kodiaq Armoured maintains the standard model's high comfort and practicality levels. It offers over 2,000 litres of boot space in a five-seat configuration. Like the Superb Armoured, it has various powertrain options and four-wheel drive capabilities.
