BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 Unveiled: Honouring Valentino Rossi’s Legacy
Valentino Rossi, the nine-time motorcycle world champion and current BMW M works driver from Italy, celebrates his 46th birthday with the launch of the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46. BMW M has crafted this exclusive edition, available in two unique designs, Sport and Style, at the BMW Group Plant in Dingolfing. Rossi played a key role in designing these models, which are limited to just 46 units. His iconic number 46 is prominently displayed on various vehicle parts, including the doors and carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof.
Owning a BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 also includes a once-in-a-lifetime experience: a personal meeting with Valentino Rossi at his VR46 Motor Ranch in Tavullia, Italy, and a thrilling BMW M Driving Experience at the Misano race circuit.
Valentino Rossi expressed his pride in being part of the BMW M family, stating, "There is no other brand as deeply connected to motorsport as BMW M. Creating a special VR46 edition that I was involved in from the start fills me with pride. Seeing the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 on the roads and race tracks will be truly exciting."
The BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 stands out with its two exclusive BMW Individual paint finishes complementing the abundant exposed carbon surfaces. Distinct features like bespoke exterior and interior elements differentiate it from the standard BMW M4 CS. The 'Sport' variant shines in Marina Bay Blue metallic. At the same time, the 'Style' option features a matt Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic finish, with both designs showcasing a large "46" in a contrasting shade.
Inside, the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 is just as striking. It is predominantly Night Blue, with M Carbon bucket seats upholstered in Black/Night Blue Merino leather. Bright yellow accents, including on the M Alcantara steering wheel and door sills, echo Rossi’s preferred colour palette.
The heart of the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 is a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, which produces 550 hp. Thanks to its eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds.
The bespoke chassis technology ensures that every aspect of the vehicle’s performance is finely tuned to provide an exhilarating driving experience, just as Rossi would demand.
Valentino Rossi has made the number 46 legendary through his racing career and as a mark of his identity, "The Doctor." Even after transitioning from motorcycle racing to car racing, Rossi continues to make his mark, driving a BMW M4 GT3 and achieving notable success in GT racing.
When they purchase a BMW M4 CS Edition VR46, enthusiasts get more than just a car. They embark on a memorable journey to Italy, where they can experience Rossi's world firsthand and drive alongside him at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. On this track, Rossi has already claimed victories.
