Unveil the Power: McLaren Artura Trophy EVO Set to Revolutionise Racing in 2025

McLaren Motorsport unveils the new Artura Trophy EVO, poised to enhance performance and excitement in the McLaren Trophy from 2025. This model introduces heightened power, increased grip, and improved driver engagement. Adding a new Pro category and the McLaren Trophy Academy Programme promises to inject more vitality into the championships.

The Artura Trophy EVO mirrors the performance upgrades seen in the new Artura Spider and coupe, featuring modifications that have transformed it into a more aggressive race car capable of clocking faster lap times.

From the 2025 season, the Artura Trophy EVO will compete in the McLaren Trophy championships, including the new McLaren Trophy America, elevating the raw power of its predecessor. Drivers will enjoy the advantages of a ‘Push to Pass’ button that boosts the power from 585PS to 620PS from the 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine, with regulated deployment to enhance strategic options for racers.

Distinguished by its bolder look, the Artura Trophy EVO boasts design updates to accommodate wider tyres, maximising the new power levels. Enhanced aerodynamics feature a more prominent front area with a redesigned bumper and bonnet outlet to improve cooling for the brakes and engine.

Expanded wheel arches now accommodate 285-section tyres at the front and 315 at the rear, with increased louvres in the front arches to cut front lift. These broader tyres, upgraded from 265 and 305 sections, channel the boosted power through new uprights managed by 2-way adjustable dampers and reinforced anti-roll bars, broadening team adjustability.

New prominent buttress scoops have been added to enhance rear brake cooling, while new billet uprights provide improved brake feel and durability during intense racing.

Such extensive modifications mean that new Artura Trophy EVO cars will be constructed from production line models, establishing this as a unique racing car for the McLaren Trophy one-make championships. Owners of existing Artura GT4 or Artura Trophy cars can upgrade to the full Artura Trophy EVO specification.

These upgrades significantly improve traction and stability. They are designed to boost driver confidence and, along with the push-to-pass technology, offer more thrilling racing experiences in the McLaren Trophy championships.

The more potent and quicker Artura Trophy EVO aligns with launching a new Pro category in both championships. Aimed at nurturing professional drivers pursuing GT racing careers, the Pro class is open to Silver solo or Silver/Silver pairings. The McLaren Trophy Academy will automatically enrol all McLaren Trophy Silver class drivers aged 26 or under, providing a pathway to the McLaren Factory Driver programme through workshops that enhance driving skills, motorsport engineering knowledge, and media proficiency.

The expansion of the McLaren Trophy to North America in its third season establishes parallel championships across continents, challenging novice and seasoned drivers and offering a gateway to international GT racing. This expansion coincides with McLaren's heightened involvement in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA. This year, Brendan Iribe, who debuted in a McLaren one-make championship, achieved his dream of racing a McLaren GT3 EVO at Le Mans.

Mick McDonagh, Director of MSO and Motorsport at McLaren Automotive, states, “The team at McLaren Motorsport has engineered a magnificent car in the new Artura Trophy EVO, building on our existing McLaren Trophy offerings based on feedback from teams and drivers. It looks stunning, and introducing the new Pro category and McLaren Trophy Academy will bring even more excitement to our championships. This car is also designed to inspire confidence across all skill levels, ensuring thrilling racing action.”
