Unveiling the Ferrari 499P Modificata: Exclusive Track-Ready Sports Prototype Launch!

Ferrari unveiled the 499P Modificata, a limited-series car tailored for non-competitive track usage. This launch commemorates Ferrari's triumphant return to top-tier endurance racing in the 2023 season. Derived from the victorious 499P that dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans Centenary edition, the 499P Modificata establishes a new standard for track driving excitement.

Crafted for an exclusive clientele, the 499P Modificata signifies a new venture for Ferrari: a track-focused model directly evolved from a racing prototype unbound by technical regulations. Freed from FIA WEC restrictions, Ferrari's engineering team implemented significant enhancements to elevate driving enjoyment and accessibility.

Notable upgrades include an electric axle and four-wheel drive that operate at low speeds, a "Push to Pass" function that grants an extra 120 kW of power, bespoke Pirelli tyres, and comprehensive adjustments to the suspension, electronics, and engine.

Retaining the cockpit layout of the 499P, the Modificata assures clients an identical driving experience to Le Mans-winning crews. It stands as Ferrari's most high-performance closed-wheel offering for non-competitive track usage.

Owners of the 499P Modificata will participate in the new Sport Prototipi Clienti program, which runs parallel to the F1 Clienti initiative. This program facilitates participation in international track events, with Ferrari handling logistics, track-side assistance, and maintenance.

The 499P Modificata integrates a hybrid powertrain, melding a mid-rear mounted internal combustion V6 with an electric front axle motor. Delivering a formidable 640 kW (870 cv) of power, unencumbered by FIA-ACO regulations, the power unit inherits the architecture from the 296 GT3. Still, it undergoes a comprehensive Ferrari-led overhaul to optimise performance and reduce weight.

Distinguishing itself, the V6 engine is a load-bearing component, enhancing structural integrity compared to traditional GT racers.

The powertrain includes a 200 kW (272 cv) electric motor with an Energy Recovery System (ERS) and an 800-volt Formula 1-derived battery pack. This setup ensures potent performance, mated to a seven-speed sequential gearbox.

Built upon an all-carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, the 499P Modificata boasts cutting-edge features such as push-rod suspension and a sophisticated brake-by-wire system enabling energy recovery at the front axle during braking.

Fine-tuned mechanical components and optimised engine and drivability maps ensure thrilling driving dynamics in all conditions.

Liberated from FIA WEC regulations, the 499P Modificata pioneers novel solutions. Activating the front axle at low speeds enhances four-wheel drive, optimising grip and torque distribution for heightened responsiveness and precision.

The "Push to Pass" system, akin to Formula 1's KERS, grants temporary power boosts, augmenting the car's output to an impressive 640 kW (870 cv).

Collaborating with the Ferrari Styling Centre, the design of the 499P Modificata epitomises technical prowess and aerodynamic efficiency. Striking a balance between form and function, the design exudes Ferrari's iconic DNA.

The 499P Modificata pays homage to Ferrari's storied endurance racing heritage, continuing its legacy of success. Through the Sport Prototipi Clienti program, owners receive comprehensive support and maintenance for dedicated track events, ensuring an unparalleled driving experience.
