Bentley Launches Beyond100+ Strategy and Announces First Luxury Urban Electric SUV for 2026

Bentley Motors has unveiled an update to its forward-thinking Beyond100 business strategy, now dubbed Beyond100+, extending its vision from 2030 to 2035. The company has also confirmed the 2026 debut of its inaugural fully electric vehicle, poised to establish a new market segment as the world's first true Luxury Urban SUV. This groundbreaking model will be designed, developed, and manufactured at Bentley's headquarters in Crewe and marks the start of an ambitious plan to launch a new PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) or BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) annually over the next decade. Bentley aims to produce electric vehicles exclusively by 2035 as part of its ongoing product and investment initiative.

Bentley, a leader in the luxury hybrid car market, will solidify its position by extending the life cycle of its PHEV models until 2035. After more than two decades of discontinuing its iconic W12 engine, Bentley now exclusively offers the Continental GT coupe, Convertible, and Flying Spur models with an Ultra Performance plug-in V8 hybrid powertrain.

Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, commented, "Almost four years to the day after Bentley first introduced its Beyond100 strategy, we are adapting to today's economic, market, and legislative demands to embark on a significant transformational phase for the future. Beyond100+ will serve as our guiding framework as we push our ambitions past 2030 while we continue to focus on a decarbonised future, including our commitment to offer only fully electric cars from 2035, further solidifying our status as the esteemed British creator of extraordinary cars for over a century."

The Beyond100+ strategy also encompasses a fundamental reinvention of the manufacturing infrastructure in Crewe, securing the future of Bentley’s operations and workforce for the forthcoming generation of products.

Bentley has significantly progressed in transforming the historic Crewe site into an industry-leading, certified carbon-neutral facility. The focus now shifts to developing a 'Dream Factory' for an electric future.

Continuing as the largest self-funded site investment program in Bentley’s distinguished 105-year history, the project includes a new state-of-the-art Design Centre, Paint Shop, and BEV assembly line. This transformation turns an 85-year-old site into a benchmark for the next generation of electrification, showcasing flexible, digital, and high-value manufacturing operations.
