The BMW Group and Rimac Technology, based near Zagreb, Croatia, have officially announced a long-term partnership to revolutionise high-voltage battery technology for specific battery-electric vehicles.

This collaboration aims to co-develop and co-produce cutting-edge solutions in the electric mobility sector. The BMW Group, a pioneer in premium electric mobility, brings over 15 years of expertise in battery and electric drive systems. Their electrification strategy aims to maintain their leading position in the market, with battery-electric vehicles projected to dominate over half of global sales by 2030.

Rimac Technology, a standout Tier 1 supplier within the Rimac Group, specialises in automotive electrification. Their in-house designed and engineered portfolio includes high-voltage battery packs, e-axles, and advanced electronics and software solutions, providing high customisation options. With the BMW Group partnership, Rimac Technology transitions from a niche supplier to a high-volume Tier 1 supplier, poised to meet automotive standards at scale.
