Discover Ferrari's SP-8: A Tailored Masterpiece Unveiled!

Ferrari unveils its latest addition to the exclusive One-Off series: the Ferrari SP-8. This bespoke vehicle, born from Ferrari's Special Projects program and crafted by the Flavio Manzoni-led Ferrari Styling Centre, showcases a mid-rear-engined V8 design based on the acclaimed F8 Spider. Inheriting its layout, chassis, and engine from the F8 Spider, the SP-8 is a testament to Prancing Horse customisation's pinnacle.

Named after its 3.9-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, renowned for winning the prestigious engine of the Year award four times consecutively, the SP-8 also pays homage to its Taiwanese client. The number 8 is significant in Chinese culture, symbolising luck and success.

Notably, the SP-8 distinguishes itself as a roofless two-seater roadster, epitomising a sporty character and delivering an exhilarating open-air driving experience. Extensive aerodynamic refinement, achieved through CFD simulations, wind tunnel testing, and track trials, ensures acoustic comfort and optimal wind flow.

The car's striking design features a seamless fusion of volumes, highlighted by the unpainted carbon-fibre front wrapping around to the tail, creating a captivating two-tone effect. Notably, the absence of a retractable hard top allowed for a radical restyling of the tail section, resulting in a sleek, voluminous profile.

At the forefront, an imposing full-width cast aluminium grille dominates, crafted from a single 3D-printed mould. Collaboration between the Ferrari Styling Centre and aerodynamics experts optimised the grille's design to enhance airflow to the front radiators.

Furthermore, several elements were reimagined for the SP-8, including redesigned headlights and rear lights, specially designed tailpipes, and unique matte Grigio NART-colored wheel rims. These exclusive wheels pay homage to Ferrari's heritage while offering modern aesthetics and enhanced lightweight performance.

Inside, modifications to the central console accommodate F1 gearbox commands, complemented by seats featuring laser-etched Navy Blue Alcantara® details and carpets with an iridescent effect.

The SP-8 showcases a custom matte Argento Micalizzato exterior, complemented by glossy iridescent Blue Sandstone carbon-fibre sections. Even the Blu Scuro Stellato colour linking the bodywork sections was meticulously developed.

Catch a glimpse of the SP-8 from October 24 at the Mugello Circuit until the Finali Mondiali Ferrari 2023 concludes. Subsequently, it will be showcased at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello from November 16, 2023, until March 2024.
