Discover the Enhanced 911 Carrera S: Bridging Performance and Luxury
Porsche unveils the new 911 Carrera S today. This significant addition to the Carrera model line fills the performance gap between the 911 Carrera and the more advanced 911 Carrera GTS T-Hybrid. This model boasts a substantially enhanced powertrain, achieving performance levels previously exclusive to the former generation's 911 Carrera GTS. It also features an expanded standard equipment list and considerably broader customisation options than its 911 Carrera counterpart, making it a compelling choice within the Carrera family. Both Coupé and Cabriolet versions are on offer.
The legendary 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder flat-six 'boxer' engine has undergone comprehensive enhancements for its deployment in the new 911 Carrera S. These improvements have led to a notable power boost to 480 PS (353 kW) and 530 Nm of torque, up by 30 PS (22 kW) over the previous model, alongside a reduction in emissions. Porsche has introduced new turbochargers and significantly refined the charge-air cooling system to elevate performance and efficiency. Drawing inspiration from the prior 911 Turbo designs, the Carrera S Coupé sprints from zero to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 191 mph. An eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK) efficiently channels this power to the wheels.
Porsche has also upgraded the Carrera S’s standard features, which now include staggered 20/21-inch Carrera S wheels, a sports exhaust system with silver tailpipes, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+), not found in the standard Carrera. A new braking system, shared with the 911 Carrera GTS and equipped with red callipers and larger discs, significantly enhances driving dynamics by providing superior deceleration rates. Additional performance options include the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system and the PASM sports suspension with a lower ride height and rear-wheel steering, all contributing to improved drivability, precision, and responsiveness.
Inside, the Carrera S exemplifies Porsche’s commitment to quality and luxury. Standard features include the black leather package, covering seats, headrests, dashboard, and door panels, with smooth-finish leather extending optionally to the rear seats in the Coupé. The Cabriolet model includes a rear seat system. Porsche offers extensive leather options covering more interior surfaces and contrast stitching in Crayon upon request.
Upgrades extend throughout the vehicle, with standard equipment like Matrix LED headlights and a wireless smartphone charger. Other options include a lift system for the front axle, HD-Matrix LED headlights, and the Sport Chrono package, which features the Porsche Track Precision app, perfect for track-day enthusiasts.
The new 911 Carrera S, now available as a Coupé or Cabriolet with rear-wheel drive, starts at £119,800.00 RRP, including VAT. The cabriolet model is priced at £129,800.00 RRP inc VAT.
Porsche also invites customers to explore the new 911 Carrera S capabilities further and enhance their driving skills with a bespoke experience at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone.
