Exclusive Bentley Apex Edition Bentayga Delivered to Long-Time Collector in Matching Le Mans Livery

Dedicated Bentley enthusiast and seasoned collector Mark King has welcomed an exceptional addition to his extensive Bentley collection: the Apex Edition Bentayga. One of just 20 handcrafted examples by Mulliner globally, this ultra-exclusive SUV arrives finished in the same Verdant Green and Moonbeam livery as his 2023 Le Mans Collection Continental GT. That car was created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Bentley’s triumphant return to Le Mans in 2003, following a 73-year absence from the podium's top step.

While the Apex Edition Bentayga was offered in six curated colour and trim themes, this specific livery was available exclusively to the Le Mans Collection owners. Mr King’s choice ensures a striking visual harmony across his bespoke Bentley garage.

Based in Northern Ireland, Mr King continues a family legacy as a knowledgeable and passionate collector of high-performance vehicles. His new Apex Edition Bentayga joins a remarkable stable that includes a Bentayga Speed, a rare Continental GT3-R, and a Continental Flying Spur – all of which see regular use. A Bentley owner since 2010 and a familiar face at the marque’s exclusive owner events, Mr King seized the opportunity to commission the Le Mans Collection Continental GT in 2023. When Bentley unveiled the Apex Edition Bentayga shortly after, he required no persuasion to complete the pair.

His existing Bentayga Speed has covered more than 100,000 miles under his stewardship and frequently serves to trailer other vehicles from his collection – a testament to his philosophy of driving and enjoying each car to its fullest.

The Apex Edition Bentayga is based on the Bentayga S – the most dynamic SUV in Bentley’s range. It features a 4.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged V8 engine producing 542 bhp (550 PS) and 770 Nm (568 lb.ft.) torque. It can be 0–60 mph in just 4.4 seconds (0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds) and has a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h), so it blends luxurious refinement with formidable performance. Bentley’s Dynamic Ride active anti-roll system and rear-wheel steering ensure outstanding agility, while a free-flowing sports exhaust enhances the unmistakable V8 soundtrack.

The Apex Edition elevates performance even further. It features ultra-lightweight 22-inch Mulliner carbon fibre wheels that reduce unsprung mass by 44 kg for sharper steering response. Carbon-ceramic brakes deliver immense stopping power with exceptional fade resistance – a set-up that cements the Apex Edition Bentayga as the most performance-focused Bentayga to date.

This motorsport DNA links directly to Mr King’s Le Mans Collection Continental GT, designed to celebrate Bentley’s sixth outright victory at Le Mans in 2003. The Verdant Green and Blackline specification pays homage to the iconic black and green livery of the winning #7 Speed 8. Distinctive details include a Beluga black matrix grille painted #7 in Arctica White, black 22-inch ten-spoke wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes and red callipers.

Each Le Mans Collection model features a six-wreath emblem inlaid into high-gloss carbon fibre, commemorating Bentley’s six Le Mans victories between 1924 and 2003. The centrepiece is the innovative Bentley Rotating Display, which reveals a central vitrine housing a section of an engine valve from the victorious 2003 Speed 8.

With his meticulously curated Bentayga and Continental GT in matching Le Mans livery, Mr King exemplifies the rare blend of passion, performance and heritage that defines Bentley ownership at its most exclusive.
