Hyundai Set to Dominate 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge with Seven Elantra N TCR Entries
Hyundai Motor America is gearing up to enter seven Hyundai Elantra N TCRs in the 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, aiming for its sixth consecutive Manufacturers' Championship. The multi-championship-winning teams, Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA), Victor Gonzalez Racing, and the newly introduced Pegram Racing, will represent Hyundai.
The team lineup includes Mark Wilkins and Bryson Morris, who will pilot the No. 33 Hyundai Elantra N TCR for BHA. Harry Gottsacker and Mason Filippi are set to drive the No. 98 car, while Denis Dupont and Preston Brown take the helm of the No. 76, all under the BHA banner. Newcomers Maddie Aust and Suellio Almeida will debut in the No. 9 car for BHA. Tyler Gonzalez and Eric Powell will drive the No. 99 Hyundai Elantra N TCR for Victor Gonzalez Racing, and Lance Bergstein and Jon Miller will team up in the No. 18 car. Additionally, the father-daughter duo Larry and Riley Pegram will compete in the No. 72 car for Pegram Racing.
Hyundai’s 2025 campaign showcases a robust mix of experienced drivers and promising new talents, enhancing its competitive stance. Mason Filippi and Mark Wilkins, runners-up in the previous year’s IMPC Drivers' Championship, bring 19 IMSA victories to the team. Hyundai is positioned firmly for success with extensive IMPC experience from drivers like Filippi, Wilkins, Bryson Morris, and 2023 TCR Champion Harry Gottsacker.
Adding to the team's prowess, Hyundai introduces Maddie Aust, noted for her vast SRO racing background, and Suellio Almeida, the 2024 Radical North America Champion. Their inclusion further strengthens the Bryan Herta Autosport lineup for an invigorating 2025 season.
A notable addition to the 2025 grid is the father-daughter duo of Larry and Riley Pegram, who will pilot the No. 72 Hyundai Elantra N TCR. Larry Pegram, with an impressive history in motorcycle racing, brings significant expertise and leadership to the team. Riley Pegram adds a fresh and enthusiastic approach, highlighting Hyundai’s dedication to promoting diversity and emerging talent in motorsport.
Victor Gonzalez Racing is set to manage two Hyundai Elantra N TCRs, with Tyler Gonzalez and Eric Powell in car No. 99 and Lance Bergstein and Jon Miller in car No. 18. This season marks the third year of collaboration with BHA in managing the Hyundai Elantra N TCR.
The 2025 Elantra N TCR cars will be unveiled at Daytona International Speedway, sporting a new livery that features the iconic Performance Blue and the signature N logo. An alternate livery will showcase a striking black design with Performance Blue highlights. The season starts with five test sessions at the Roar Before the Rolex 24, from January 17-19, 2025, followed by the BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona on January 24, 2025.
Last season, Hyundai Motor North America contributed $100 to Hyundai Hope on Wheels for every leading lap by a Hyundai vehicle, raising over $38,000 for pediatric cancer research. In 2025, Hyundai will continue this initiative, donating $100 for every leading lap throughout the season, reaffirming its commitment to combating pediatric cancer.
